I'm sick of articles like this. Not all illegal aliens are Hispanic, nor are all Hispanic people illegal aliens. Just what exactly is the media trying to do with this and other articles like it I have no idea. I just see them trying to stir up hate.

Boo hoo hoo------I'm sorry that they can't go back to their "homes" for the holidays. They just send the money they earn here back there!!! Unlike the immigrants of old-- they don't feel this is their country (it's not)it's just a place to work, get their kids a free education and free lunches, free medical care and welfare, and then eventually go back--or maybe not--maybe just bring up more of their "children" to be educated here--for free!!!
Sorry, if I sound bitter, but the old saying about there is no such thing as a free lunch should go to any school the first day of every month and see the free lunch cards being given out to a disproportunate number of foreign students with dubious papers.

These Politically correct bo hoo stories are driving away readers as fast as they write them.
If this bozo/bozoette diversity/PCer wanted to do a story about people missing home for the holidays, why not do one about our brave Hispanic soldiers, sailors and airmen who are away from home defending us so we can have a good Christmas.
Then, if the writer was really pc, he/she/it would do a story about all American service people not a few favorite skin/languages.
This sending most of their money home, drives me right up the wall. This happens in the wine country, and then they want us to subsidize their rent, utilities, food and health care so they can send money home to non Americans. We have plenty of Americans of all colors/languages in need here. We should not waste our tax $'s to subsidize someone to send money to their relatives out of this county.
They can send all they want to, just don't ask us to subsidize them to be able to send more!

Raoul Morales of Carthage would rather be in Guatemala... Can I give you a ride to the bus station Raoul?
Thanks for the ping.

An awful lot are going home anyhow. The border isn't that locked up. It's still easy to get through. They found a bus lines specializing in taking illegals to California at the rate of about 300 a day just from El Paso, even after Sept 11.

I wonder how many Hispanics all these writers and editors take into their homes for Christmas so they don't "feel lonely".

Doug Mosier, a spokesman at the Border Patrol in El Paso, Texas, said that, in the 14 years he has been with the patrol, he has never seen border security so tight. That makes it very difficult for illegals who have gone home for Christmas to get back to their new homes in the United States Man, something has to be done about this. Now where is my congressman's address?

I wonder how many Hispanics all these writers and editors take into their homes for Christmas so they don't "feel lonely". Somehow i suspect the real motive of these writers is not sympathy for illegal aliens, but a desperate attempt by the liberals to take control of the House and Senate. They know these illegals vote, and they know who they vote for. Which makes all this Republican support for amnesties that much harder to swallow. Must be a death wish on their part.

Are you implying that she's an illegal alien? Carmen is Puerto Rican and Puerto Ricans are US citizens since they live in a US territory.

And MOST of their pay is UNDER THE TABLE,TAX FREE. They don't have to be bothered filling out any "stupid ole taxforms" and they pay NO Federal,State,City/Local taxes!

You are certainly correct about the Puerto Rican woman! She is a U.S. citizen.
