Applied Digital Solutions Introduces Verichip, a Miniaturized, Implantable Identification Device With a Variety of Medical, Security and Emergency Applications

PALM BEACH, Fla.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Dec. 19, 2001--Applied Digital Solutions, Inc. (Nasdaq: ADSX - news), an advanced digital technology development company, announced today that it has developed a miniaturized, implantable identification chip -- called VeriChip(TM) -- that can be used in a variety of medical, security and emergency applications.

How VeriChip Works

VeriChip is an implantable, 12mm by 2.1mm radio frequency device about the size of the point of a typical ballpoint pen. Each VeriChip will contain a unique identification number and other critical data. Utilizing an external scanner, radio frequency energy passes through the skin energizing the dormant VeriChip, which then emits a radio frequency signal transmitting the identification number and other data contained in the VeriChip. The scanner will display the identification number, but the VeriChip data can also be transmitted, via telephone or the Internet, to an FDA compliant, secure data-storage site. It will then be accessible by authorized personnel. Inserting the VeriChip device is a simple procedure performed in an outpatient, office setting. It requires only local anesthesia, a tiny incision and perhaps a small adhesive bandage. Sutures are not necessary.

Medical Device Identification

Hundreds of thousands of medical devices are surgically implanted into patients every year. Examples of these life-saving and life-enhancing devices include pacemakers, artificial joints, orthopedic hardware, heart valves, and medication pumps. After insertion, these devices often require adjustment, repair, replacement, or even recall. VeriChip, inserted subdermally just above the implanted medical device, provides patients, medical providers, and manufacturers with a rapid, secure and non-invasive method for obtaining medically critical information about the device. VeriChip is a ready source of data about the patient's name and condition as well as the medical device's original components, required settings and other essential parameters. Future applications may include full medical record archival/ retrieval for emergency medical care.

Emergency or Security-related Identification

Personal identity verification technology has gained considerable interest recently. A great deal of focus has been trained on so-called ``biometric'' technologies - which identify individuals by their unique biological or physical characteristics, such as fingerprints, voiceprints, retina characteristics, and face recognition points. VeriChip, by contrast, relies on imbedded, tamper-proof, microchip technology, which allows for non-invasive access to identification, medical and other critical data. Use of advanced VeriChip technology means that the threat of theft, loss, duplication or counterfeiting of data is substantially diminished or eliminated. Specific application areas include: enhancement of present forms of identification, search and rescue, and various law enforcement and defense uses.

Commenting on the announcement, Richard J. Sullivan, Chairman and CEO of Applied Digital Solutions stated: ``With VeriChip, Applied Digital has taken another significant step in developing leading-edge personal security technologies for a rapidly evolving marketplace. VeriChip joins Digital Angel(TM) and Thermo Life(TM) in our repertoire of breakthrough technologies. All of these are designed specifically to save lives, enhance personal security and improve quality of life. We're looking forward to working with the medical community and other potential partners to bring VeriChip to market as quickly as possible.''

It's not a National ID, It's a National AFFIRMATION. Since when do we need affirmation from the government for ANYTHING?

Welcome to the Number of the Beast. You know, if they make it mandatory, I think there's going to be a lot of people who'll line up there to be the first on their block to get it. I will lay money on it, that pretty soon, it will be fasionable. You'll see actors, and actresses, media types, and all kinds of public figures getting it done.

Which is why I have no desire to be a celebrity. I can tell you, this thing is moving so fast now, it's gaining momentum. Watch and wait, within 6 months, it's going to be looked at seriously by our government. The UN is looking forward to this, especially with this new fingerprinting and DNA plan they have. What do you want to bet, it's all part of the strategy these idiots are pitching so that we all pay our taxes to the UN.

Our sovereignty is heading down a slippery slope, as well as our personal security. But hey, at least we'll find work for all those college degreed tech types.

I read a story about the UN thinking about a WORLDWIDE fingerprinting database!!! Imagine that? Imagine not being able to buy a pack of 25 dollar smokes because you haven't met the government's qualifications for citizenzhip?

No joke... This is an evil thing, that will only enslave 1st world nations. If everyone has the chip, in a nation that is civilized and has industry, only those people will be accountable for taxes and generating wealth.

Now, what is the goal of the UN? Koffi Annan thinks it should be the redistribution of wealth to countries like Africa, Asia, the Middle East, and South America. What would this redistribution do? Well, if you can imagine an international welfare state. If you think your taxes are high, imagine a tax on world citizenry. If this goes through, you'll be tracked. That is the ONLY reason for this chip. It's not to monitor your identity, it's to monitor your habits, where you spend your money, how you spend your time, and your money, as well as monitor your health.

How do we know that this thing won't have a tracking device installed that sends GPS signals to a satellite? How do we know this thing isn't to make the police's job a lot easier? If you make implants, make them for children, and when they are 21, they have them removed. This fascist lie is gaining momentum. If you saw Demolition Man, you'll see that it is nothing but a lie.

Pretty soon, we'll be able to breed a group of people who will be Alphas, Betas, Deltas, etc, and then we'll have a brave new world.

I have felt for some time that the implant ID would first be offered for sale as a "benefit", rather than by government fiat. Next it will be used to track felons, then perhaps offered as a new form of credit card, then some supermarket will offer a 5% discount if you get a chip. If you get a security clearance your employer may require you to get one.

It's a natural for "smart gun" technology, too.

Eventually so many people will be chipped that it will be hard for unchipped people to do routine things like take books out of a public library or rent a video.

The military has fooled around with this idea using the Destron-Fearing chip- Timmy McVeigh said they had chipped him, remember?

What happened during the 2000 crunch?

I spent $3,500 bucks preparing my family for possible disruptions while the transnational whores spent billions fixing computer code that wasn't broken.

I win (since I remain prepared) while the transnational whores took it in the shorts...

Now,,,go back to sleep Buckeroo, the Republican (mini) majority in the House will protect you from the 'evil ones'...

The One Worlders will present the chip in such a way that the sheeple will *DEMAND* that it be installed...

If it protects but one child....(gag)

On the lighter side, Jethro, do you think that a layer of aluminum foil will block the operation of Digital Angel or the Destron chip?

On the serious side, a post above points out the response of many Christians: Mark of the Beast. A serious thing for the government to fool with, and a sign that the govt is seriously thinking about chipping lots of people we will see a propaganda campaign to neutralize the concept, defuse or avoid the comparison, or at least sound out the amount of resistance.

I am a student of Edward Bernays and he was the master of propaganda. One of his commercial successes was getting fashion designers to make a certain shade of green more popular, to- I am not kidding- make a certain brand of cigarettes sell more by making women's cloting "go with" the package. He also came up with the campaign that made diamonds a girl's best freind- rather than have a colored stone be the required symbol of engagement.

Watch for this sort of info campaign and you will get a heads up on when our ever helpful Federal Gummint thinks we are ready for massive chipping.

Look for them to be used with newborns and promoted as a way of keeping track of children thus the abduction can still occur but knowing were they are 24/7 will be the selling factor. I heard a presentation about 6 yrs ago and it was mentioned then.

We also are tracked with the new devices in cars, cell phones, etc. So they pretty much can keep tabs on us if they so desire. We're the gov't and we're here to help you.

14) Thanks for the insightful post. I agree with much of what you're saying. The one part where I 'drift' is with the mark of the beast thing. Although I'm a Catholic who attends Church every Sunday, I have never read the Bible. I've tried, but it puts me fast asleep. I did interview Fr. Malachi Martin for a radio show I once did. Fr. Martin was the most interestering person I've ever spoken to. His many books detail both demonic posession in depth and the coming New World Order.

I don't personally believe that a social security number or ID chip is "the mark of the beast" either, but there are many who do think so. Any past discussion of either biochip or ID chip on FR brings several posts mentioning it. I personally know several families who feel that the growing use of SS numbers as ID is "the mark", and definitely when I mention ID chips! Even if the chip is not placed "on the forehead or on the right hand", they feel very threatened. Some also do not like Tarot or Harry Potter, but where there is a minority with deep strong feelings you will find echoes in a larger, culturally similar group.

Feelings that I certainly will try to stir up if it looks like ID chipping will be the "next thing"! It gives the gummint way too much power, in ways we have not dreamed of yet.
