When anything even remotely like bullets flying happens a normal parent will get on their kid like stink on a monkey.
Again: from the forensic analysis done on the film (available here on FR, I believe), the kid was shot from somewhere near the photographer. I think you'll also see that the father isn't looking in the direction of the Israeli post, he's looking in the direction of the photographer and the shooter. And afterwards, a press conference.
Do I have to remind you that we've seen these kids mothers state that they've gotten pregnant to have martyrs? You're not necessarily talking "normal parent" here.
