I don't want this to be miscontrued as racist, but white people are getting the shaft, in every single sense of the word. And blacks and other minorities are not going to be the better for it, it's just going to breed resentment, and it's going to spell trouble for the future of our country.

After we heard that we lost the deal because we were white, one of the guys who works with me, who's been my friend for a very long time and who I've never known to be racist said "those gosh darn Hispanic-Americans, what the heck are they doing in this country" (except he didn't use those exact words, I'll allow you to fill them in). Sentiments like those my friend uttered are misguded and wrong, but with cases like these, they are inevitable.

That's what happens when competence is replaced by political correctness. I saw the same program (No Spin Zone), and my opinion is that minorities just want a hand out. To all high and mighties out there that might say I'm racist, I'm a Cajun, which equals to a mixture of at least 5 different races/ethnic groups (that I'm aware of).

Not necessarily. I present to you the very item which got a Houston Denny's out of this same predicament - a surveillance camera. They have them all over the restaurant, and when they went back over their material, voila! There were the customers on the day in question, being served without delay and in a most expedient manner. Needless to say, the court case was ruled in favor of the defendent, and the plaintiffs had to pay court costs.

I'd suggest that Cracker Barrel peruse their tapes, and see what THEY can dig up. However, if they do find discriminatory behavior, then all bets are off...

Look at Estevan's website...It mentions in his bio that he is a "full court" basketball player. Add to this the fact that he also wants Hispanics in the Nugget organization, and I can safely deduct that he sees this as a prime opportunity (as a basketball fan) to get a part-time (but high paying) job as the Denver Nuggets' "Diversity Director."

The diversity that is important is the diversity of ideas. Diversity based on the color of ones's skin, country of origin , or religion is a false premise. It is bound to fail becuase there is no basis of competence.

Well, it IS "Cracker" Barrel. They'll have to change the name to Diversity Barrel, or Cheese Barrel, or some other stupid thing.

Similar story. I did consulting for a small PR firm. They "did the PC thing" and hired a minority engineering firm to develop some prototypes for them. This made the PR firm's owner feel good, like he was helping out a disadvantaged bidness.

All of the engineers claimed to be African American (not black!), even the token white engineer said he was of African decent.

Now comes the good part. They failed to meet some milestones in the development process. The PR firm had a meeting and told them to get back on track, or they would not get the rest of the prototype money ($40k)- they had not met the project milestones.

2 weeks later, the minority engineering company sent a letter written by their lawyer that the PR firm must pay the remaining money or face a discrimination lawsuit.

The PR firm's owner just laughed and threw the letter away. The schedule was documented and signed - the engineers had missed the milestones - plain and simple.

It sucks the engineers pulled the race-card.
