This is outrageous! The big charities have really shown their true ugly faces in the aftermath of these attacks.

Maybe the United Way and the Red Cross should be boycotted until they die, and some new charities could take over their functions.

I agree that the families of the victims of the attack on the Pentagon and of the victims on the attack on Flight 93 should share in whatever funds are available for the victims of 9/11. However, I would like to ask two questions. Who thinks Jeremy Click earned $10,000/month? And why is his wife "tapped out" after three months when she received $30,000? There is something about these victim stories that don't add up. These people lost a family member, they didn't win the lottery.

F'ing BS! Because he wasn't at the WTC? Who the hell do they think they are?

We gave to the victims, we did NOT specify that they HAD to be from the WTC!!

Does anyone know of a means to give money directly to the family/families without having to go through a "charity" intermediary?

Let the Faith Based charities step in. Let them replace the leftist Unite Way. Let us start a FR fund for this woman. I will offer $50.00 to start it off but some one here on FR will have to run the fund. I have not the skill or the time to do this. Dan

WHAT?!? I AM OUTRAGED. WE DID NOT GIVE MONEY SO THEY CAN WITHHOLD IT! THESE SCAM ARTIST CHARITIES WILL NEVER GET ANOTHER DIME FROM ME UNTIL EVERY PENNY THEY TOOK FOR THIS ATTACK IN IS GIVEN TO THE VICTIMS -- ALL THE VICTIMS!

How hard can this be? Find all the victims families, divide the money up and send out the checks!

This needs to be made as public as possible.
You could smell this a mile away. Although I certainly never had any intention of ever giving the United Way one thin dime in my lifetime, I always wondered about the Red Cross. All I knew about them was that they were involved in some blood-selling scandal a few years back. Guess I should have realized that they are as corrupt as the United Way.

The "September 11th Fund" collected what - - a billion dollars? And now the kind souls who thought they were helping the families of victims by giving money to United Way and Red Cross feel like utter dupes. Of course, they were utter dupes, but now (hopefully) they are also a little smarter.

Can't say as I see a heck of a difference between the type of extortion that Jesse Jackson has levied against Toyota, and the type that United Way uses to put the screws to American businesses and their employees. It makes my blood boil every time I see one of their d*mn thermometers approaching 100% in my town. Even the local paper was begging people this past Sunday for the "last $50,000 we need to put 'Anointed Way' over the top". Wake up, people. If you weren't so lazy, you could give to the charity of YOUR choice DIRECTLY, and put these scam artists out of their misery permanently. (Get a grip, moderates...I realize that there are DECENT people working for 'Anointed Way'...unfortuantely, the scum seems to rise to the top.)

Phil,

This is a continuing story. The 9/11 charities should be helping this woman. They should NOY be helping "charities" that provide lawyers for terrorists, and in the latest flap, sue the US government.

The 9-11 Fund was established to assist the families of the massacres of 9-11. Flight 93 was a part of that massacre as were the those murdered in the Pentagon massacre. These charities need to be dismantled, they are obviously incompetent.

American Red Cross sent me a solicitation today. It now goes into the trashcan. Same for all of them until they provide the charity they promise.

Out here in the DC area, a volunteer rescue guy and his rescue dog who assisted in the recovery of bodies in New York WTC, went to the Red cross asking for help. Seems the dog got glass in his eyes and is under vet care. The guy was asking for some help.
They dissed the resuce worker big time and made him wait and made him come back 3 times. Each time making him sit in the waiting room all day.
So the guy gets a hold of a local TV news guy who goes with him to the Red cross with a hidden camera. They then take the film of the Red Cross workers refusing to help to the top folks at the Red cross. They remind the Red cross that the film was already shown to everyone on their news the night before. Needless to say, the Red cross looked bad. They promised to help the guy and his dog out. Geesh!

One WTC widow committed suicide a few days ago. These charities are counting beans rather than looking out for those left behind.
