Is that the best you can do is defending yourself? WOW that's impressive,
Don't you think you should learn the name of the Georgian capital at least before you spout off about the country's internal politics? But I guess you will now run off and see whether you have an atlas somewhere so you can try and prove that you knew it all along. Simply: you know nothing about Georgia so you have no credibility. You are pathetically attempting to change the subject at hand: America's glorious "victory" against the Flintstones. But if I had your untenable position to argue I would probably change the subject too.
Eight from that bastion of conservatism, THE NEW YORK TIMES.
Four from foreign sources.
One from CNN.
You're slipping, tex-omar. You're quoting leftists to back you up.
Can I suggest a chat room?
This is just a response to all the fools that said that this could never be accomplished. Some even said that Afghanistan had never been conquered, when in fact Alexander the Great had done so, in a fashion not all unsimilair to what has happened so far. Bush - following in the steps of Alexander.
All things aside, this thing in Afghanistan is not over. I am just baiting the leftists who come in here and try to disrupt. The present situtation is different from when the Soviets tried to install their own people in Kabul.
I am happy for the Afghanis and will pray for their future, but we have not won yet, we can not claim our victory until we have brought the Al Queada network and the Taliban leadership that harbored them to justice.
Yea, but if we had not stuck our nose into Afghanistan when Russia was dealing with the problem there, we might never have had to. It is the same with China. It has been dealing with the same problem on its Western boarder. Our approach was to condem China for taking the exact same action that we have now had to take.
Not all conflicts are ours to step into. That is, except when they come back to bite us becase we did. The salient question is, when is it appropriate for the U.S. to take action? The answer is, far less often than we have.
This is just a response to all the fools that said that this could never be accomplished.
Read what the other posters have already said, particularly the one just above yours, about the Soviet and British "victory" in Afghanistan. Both of them, and Alexander the Great, conquered the country in less time than it took us. Then they bled themselves dry trying to keep control and "nation-build." We are doing it exactly the same way as those who have lost in the past. Do you think there will be any different outcome? You think this is "won" because we bombed a third world country with no air force to speak of? You have really lowered expectations for the US military, don't you?
Psa 33:17 An horse is a vain thing for safety: neither shall he deliver any by his great strength.
Psa 33:18 Behold, the eye of the LORD is upon them that fear him, upon them that hope in his mercy;
Psa 33:19 To deliver their soul from death, and to keep them alive in famine.
Psa 37:39 But the salvation of the righteous is of the LORD: he is their strength in the time of trouble.
Psa 37:40 And the LORD shall help them, and deliver them: he shall deliver them from the wicked, and save them, because they trust in him.
My global BCS 1. USA 2. China 3. Russia
Let's just hope we never have to hold the playoff game.
