Pink Floyd - Dark side of the Moon, The Wall

Hey, you can't mention these two in this context and not mention "Animals".

Mention of "Bustin' Out", "Hejira" and a few others there caused me to dig through the vinyl collection.

John Prine's blue album
Dylan - Desire
Jackson Browne (the fellas called him Jackson Bummout)Saturate Before Using
Dead- Eyes of the World Stones- It's only Rock and Roll as well as Let it Bleed

"Best" Being a Realtive Term...

I nominate "SNF" as the "Best" selling album from the Seventies!

Go pick up a Steppenwolf "Greatest Hits" CD........make sure it has at least 16 songs to get a decent cross section of their work.......and you'll be floored at the consistent quality of Steppenwolf's songs. GREAT songwriting; excellent musicianship. John Kay was a bloody genius.

Joni Mitchell: Herija

Sorry, but the only list that woman belongs on is "people who should be slowly strangled to death if ever caught singing". Her voice is so high it makes dogs ears bleed. More irritating that fingernails on a blackboard.

nobody mentioned the Rocky Horror Picture Show soundtrack!?

Yeah,I did. Either on this or another thread. I also mentioned the soundtrack from "Dirty Dancing". There really ARE some people who have never heard Mickey and Sylvia,or Solomon Burke.

BTW,I just got throught listening to Solomon Burke's "Cry to Me",one of the greatest 60's songs ever recorded.

BTW its "Spirit of Radio" and was released in 1980. So it does'nt quite qualify for this list. But we musn't forget RUSH, 2112, Caress of Steel or Hemispheres.

I always thought I was one of the few people who kept and loved Yessongs.

Apparently you aren't totally alone. Now, do you also have a copy of Rick Wakeman's
Journey to the Center of the Earth?

I've seen that first Montrose album mentioned a number of times...what a kickin' album! One of the best EVER! Had a few more to mention...

Rainbow: On Stage (Blackmore and Dio LIVE...to die for!)
Tubes (the 1st album...'White Punks on Dope'...killer concert)
UFO: Strangers in the Night
Blue Oyster Cult: On Your Feet or On Your Knees
Robin Trower: Bridge of Sighs
Head East: Live

This is a great thread...unfortuately, it has pointed out a number of serious holes in my CD collection. My wife has been complaining that she has no idea what to get me for Christmas (not much of a materialist), but the great suggestions on this thread will keep her busy the next few days...thanks!
