During the Berry civil rights hearings over the 2000 election, there were a number of articles regarding this "person", Berry. I remember reading that this lady goes way back either with the commission or as someone else pointed out earlier, the Pacific Radio or something. What I recall reading was that Reagan had trouble with her, tried to fire her and a big hoop-la began. I believe that she was appointed by Jimmy Carter, according to the articles. Since her last report and her letters to Gov. Jeb Bush, I have tried to search the archives. Someone having better skills than I on this site could probably find the information. It was quite lengthy and informative. Perhaps, it could be pulled up again, because it could provide avenues for us to get involved with how to get her out. I believe it can be done and Bush is popular enough, even without the war. (Of course, I still believe that Bush won the popular vote across the United States as well, due to all of the fraud that occurred throughtout the United States, Michigan-cigarettes, Missouri, Pennsylvania, New Mexico, etc.).. I know here in Louisiana, we have a sitting Senator who had dead voters putting her in the Senate. Please, if anyone can pull the information up on Berry, it would be very enlightening. By the way, What did Senator Zell Miller say to Hannity, regarding the Ashcroft hearings tomorrow??? Please don't keep us in the dark.

...that Reagan had trouble with her, tried to fire her...

I'm glad someone else remembers this incident. These appointments carry the clause "at the pleasure of the president". Reagan had every right to can her @ss or not, just because he could. She had no legal remedy. I think the whine of these liberal racists was "because that's *OUR* commission". That's how I remember the article.

I wish Reagan stood his ground on this idiot.

Mr. Bush nominated Mr. Kirsanow to replace Victoria Wilson, who was appointed by President Clinton on Jan. 13, 2000, to fill an unexpired, six-year term that ended Nov. 29. Washinton Times

seems like another political landmine, set by Clinton before leaving office, going off.
