As a matter of fact, although the American people probably regard Norman Schwartzkopf as a hero, he didn't really get the credit he deserved from the press either. He made the Gulf War look easy, but if some incompetent had been running the show, things could have been very, very different. More like Mogadishu, for instance.
The same is obviously true of Aghanistan. Handled the wrong we, we could easily have lost the momentum while building up the reputation of the Taliban. It looks easy now, but I don't believe these things are ever as easy as they look.

GW and his staff are in my daily prayers. Rumsfeld has turned out to be the BEST member of the administration. Rice a close second. We are truly fortunate to have these people helping our beloved President.
