This will be my first Thanskgiving without a gall bladder. Sniffle. It's my favorite holiday, since it is the holiday which pleases everyone! and I hate to alter recipes I've adored since childhood to take out fat, but this year I have to go easy on the fat or I suffer. Waah.

I don't have any gall bladder recipes.

Did you usually have your's stuffed or what?

Planning on having minced turkey and spam balls in a rich alfredo sauce, perhaps over burnt toast.
(Cajun blacken'd bread for all you northerners.)

I got a cure for that suffering: For those of you who get gall-bladder attacks. (even if yours is removed!)

4oz of distilled water
4oz apple juice
5 tablespoons of olive oil (organic is best)
1 inch of ginger root; peeled (not totally necessary but helps for nausea)

Put all of that in a blender and drink it down. Not the tastiest but will take that pain.

In 10 minutes you are pain free! And then, don't over-eat again!

I "lost" my gall bladder a couple years ago.
1st year wasn't great, but now I don't miss it at all.
(Although I never ate much in the way of fatty foods in the 1st place.)
Give it a year, you will probably be able to splurge on the holidays without the unpleasant side effects.
(Well, you'll still get fat!)
