The question is. . . How did a Salvadoran national become a Notary Public for the state of Virginia?

She apparently had the "right to work" in this country. The notary public exam itself is a piece of cake.

THIS is one reason why a NOTARY means almost NOTHING these days.

Having been one over 2 decades ago, I can tell you that it never did mean much. It all depends on the integrity of the NP. I didn't get much business because I refused to bend the rules for anyone - even big bosses in the workplace who thought they could intimidate a young girl.

Another example of the liberal ideal of "inclussion". We put foreigners in sensitive jobs and expect them to do the right thing for America ?

You wouldn't want someone you didn't know just stopping by for dinner with the family. Having alliens "visit our country", enjoy our special programs, and take sensitive jobs away from Americans is like having strangers for dinner.

WE DON'T NEED NON-AMERICAN'S IN AMERICA ! We already have Welfare States (Calif. & NY,) but we do not have a welfare nation...yet !

I've lived in Northern VA for over 30 years and the DMV here is a joke. Every time I go to renew my license, I feel like I'm the only American in a foreign country. The employees have an attitude problem and act as if they're doing me a favor to speak in English. For as long as I can remember, it's been common knowledge that illegals can get whatever ID they need from the VA DMV -- with the right amount of money.

This past week I went to Fairfax County to get a county sticker for a car -- and of course I dealt with someone who did me the favor of sepaking English instead of Arabic. Makes me feel warm and fuzzy to know that these people have access to the data bases with all the personal information of VA residents.

Agreed. Licensing is just another form of restraint of trade and a substitute for actual morality. Lawyers were far better and far more ethical before they became licensed. Now, anything goes as long as you can't lose your license for it. Lying in the courtroom is rampant. You have to double your estimate of the husband's income in a divorce case because the judge expects that you will lie and will cut the amount you argue in half. If you are the husband, you have to lie and conceal half your income because you know the judge will expect the lie and will automatically double your figure. But since none of this strictly violates ethical rules in that the shrewd lawyer remains just ignorant enough of the true facts for credible deniability, it is all accepted. Meanwhile, the honest lawyer will have no clients. In fact, he may be disciplined for failure to adequately represent his client.

Without licensing, then a true morality has room to develop. And a lawyer who becomes known for not adhering to that code, will not have much business, nor much credibility with the bench.

Click Here for an article about the Palmer Raids that deported dangerous aliens in the 1920's. There is an historical precedent for deporting dangerous aliens. We did it in the 1920's and we stayed a free, democratic nation.
