Have you seen this new slide show? Better than the one that came out in September 2001. 7 megabytes long, takes a while to load... but worth the wait.

Thank you! Brings tears of anger, like Soviet tanks rolling into Czechoslovakia did.

Wipe them Talibananas from the face of Earth!

Sat here transfixed as I watched it. Tears, sadness, anger surging again. We must never forget - never! Tonight, as I was driving home from the grocery store. In the darkness I saw a tall, lit-up pole that looked like one of those towers for cell-phones. It literally gleamed in the darkness. It showed colors of red, white and blue. In surprise, I realized it was an American flag. There was not even a breeze so it was hanging straight down, however, inspite of this, and inspite of my distance from it, I could see that it was huge. I don't think I've ever seen a flag that size. I just felt this surge of pride. Around here, the flags are still flying. The poles on main street are still decorated with flags. Trucks have two at a time stuck on the back. Cars have them from their antennas. There are paper flags printed by the local newspaper taped to windows and doors. Things are as normal as they can be, given the circumstances. Underneath it all, however, is a quiet resolve. We will win this thing. We will. We have to. We can't let the deaths of those thousands of people go unavenged. I'm not from NY. But I'm a citizen of the proudest, greatest nation on earth. Those cowards picked a fight with the wrong people this time. I hope we turn their God-forsaken country into a gaping hole suitable for a garbage dump.

Love your screen name - it was a great movie - everytime it's on I watch it - and I'm not a Redford fan.

Yes, in San Diego - flags are flying very high still. In Mission Valley we have a couple of car dealers who fly the biggest flags I have ever seen. And ... even though I had shed a few tears the day of the event, I wasn't prepared for what I saw on 9/12 as I drove to work. There were those 2 huge flags flying at half staff. I just totally lost it. I'm not sure how I did driving at 65 miles an hour on the freeway - but I didn't hit anybody. I was shocked that such a simple thing could evoke such emotion from me.

Thank you for putting this up again. We Freepers will never forget, but we must make sure that no one else does, either. Send it out to everyone you know.

Actually, "sneakers" was the name of my (now deceased) cat! LOL! I've never seen the movie. Yes, the attacks on 9/11 awakened the patriotism is us. It's too bad it took such horrible events to do it. This goes to show that, from coast to coast (me in Pennsylvania - you in California) pride in America is still there and stronger than ever.

Never mind, I found the file by searching the Temporary Internet files for a 7 meg .swf file. Now the question is, how do you play a Macromedia flash file that isn't posted on a web site? Does anyone know? If I click on it, it just asks for a file association.

You should rent the movie - it's very appropriate to what's going on today; you'll love it.

This was originally a New York website as you can see from the credits at the end. I posted it last week and I see it's been making it's way around the world as it well should.

right click on the link, and select 'save target as'

If double-clicking the saved file does not run the slideshow, simply make sure you open it with Internet Explorer.
