How would you like to see that monstrosity on a parachute coming at you? Wow!!That would be the last thing you'd ever see.

Now I know what happened to my living room when I wasn't the grownup in charge yesterday.

Don't be silly, the peaceniks would complain if we used cap guns on the "innocents".
Is this bomb the same as a FAE or is it different?

Is this bomb the same as a FAE or is it different? Different. FAE cracks open while still falling, before detonation, generating an explosive cloud, then ignites it. BLU-82s are just a huge tank of explosive slurry.

As far as I'm concerned, the bombs we are using aren't big enough!
To: Lady In Blue
Each is more than 17 feet long and 5 feet in diameter - about the size of a Volkswagen BeetleAbout the size of some Volkswagen Beetles

Is this bomb the same as a FAE or is it different? 'Not exactly.' And I think these are now being shoved out the back of c-130's to let the angry Pakistani visiting troops trying to go play war see what Hell is like. The over pressure should do a number on bunkers.

My favorite AC/DC song: I've got big bombs I've got big bombs Dirty big bombs... bet they do too. Hope we stop them from getting a chance to use them (dirty bombs).

This isn't good enough. I want it the size of a Lincoln Navigator not a damn little V-dub. Amen! Total fantasy on my part, but wouldn't it be great if we had a bomber capable of carrying 100 FAE bombs, each the size of a boxcar? Talk about carpet bombing! Okay all you aerospace engineers, get to crackin'! Thousand foot wingspan? No problemo.

What a wonderful and inexpensive item. Order them by the hundreds and pound those rag-heads into oblivion.

"i saw a calculated yield on the order of 7.5 kilotons"
Was that from someone who took "outcome based" math? Given that the bomb has about 7 tons of explosive, I'd be curious to see how the calculated yield could be 7,500 tons, or about half the yield of the the hiroshima bomb....

One C-130:$24,000,000.00
One 10,000 pounds of JP-8 Jet Fuel:$19,990.00
One BLU-82 primed and ready:$27,000.00
One VW Beetle full loaded 20,950.00
One acre of land full of Daisies:$50,000
One smoking carter full of Taliban Body Parts:Priceless

It wouldn't be the first time a major company put their logo on a bomb. The Ford Festiva for example....

I can't be Silly....he's probably on another thread and he hates it when I impersonate him.
You're askin' me about bombs? I don't know nothin' 'bout bombs. I just do guns.
To: Lady In Blue
Hmm... huge bomb.
I wonder what are the chances that someone mistakenly puts a small tactical nuke in along with the conventional weapons.
Government workers are not infallible, and mistakenly putting in a tactical nuke in along with the conventional warheads is just a filing mistake. ;)

I'm ever upper class high society,
God's gift to bomber notoriety,
I always fill my bombers
(The event is never small)
The social pages say I've got
The biggest bombs of all
Oh I've got big bombs,
I've got big bombs
And they're such big bombs
Dirty Big bombs,
And he's got big bombs
And she's got big bombs
But we've got the biggest bombs of them all
And my bombs are always falling
My bombers are always full
And everybody's bombed and bombed again
If your name is on the guest list
No-one can blow you sky-higher
Everybody says I've got
GREAT BOMBS OF FIRE...
Oh I've got big bombs
[repeat]
Some bombs are dropped on fascists
And some on communists
But when they're dropped on the Taliban
They're the bombs that I like best.
My bombs are always dropping
to the left and to the right
It's my belief that my big bombs
Should be dropped every night
Oh I've got big bombs
[repeat]
