Incredible story.

From the beginning, what we saw was a confused and far weaker response to the atrocities than we all imagined. The feeling we all had, and continue to have, is that far more damage has been inflicted on this country than they care to acknowledge.

I think that large elements of the public are becoming extremely uncomfortable with the situation. America's enemies seem not to be being dealt with decisively, and the sense is that time is not on our side.
