Hillary Spends Alot on Shoes

In June 1999, Hillary Clinton was in Palermo, Sicily as her husband was in that Italian city for the summit meeting - and she sure didn't waste any time.

Hillary - like any bored housewife dragged along on a business trip by her husband - went shopping.

More specifically, Hillary shopped for shoes - the same expensive Bruno Magli brand preferred by O.J. Simpson. She bought 18 pair of pumps for a total of $5,000 - some at the company's boutique in Palermo, others when she requested a private showing in her hotel suite.

The Bruno Magli company reports that Hillary has been a loyal customer for many years.

A press release by Bruno Magli says that lots of famous Americans wear its shoes - but it names only Hollywood celebrities and doesn't name any politicians.

Maybe that's because voters would question the common sense of any woman who paid $277.78 for a pair of shoes when she could have bought Easy Spirit pumps for $69 at any department store in America. Maybe that's because voters would question the common sense of any woman who spends more per pair of shoes than the average woman spends each month on her car payment; a new Toyota Camry leases for $269 a month, no down payment. Maybe that's because voters would question how such a woman could possibly relate to the problems of Real Americans.

Hillary is either America's Marie Antoinette - or its Imelda Marcos.

having followed Hillary's Italian shoe buying binge, I will report that all of her shoes were of the EXACT same style. One inch low heeled pumps, most of them were black.

She has to have only one style of shoe to go with ole crusty.
