The Word According to POZ Magazine:
Heterosexual AIDS epidemic a 'false medical panic women cannot transmit AIDS to male partners.'
You know change is in the air when a staunchly orthodox AIDS magazine like POZ runs a feature article on 'the myth of heterosexual AIDS.'
The October 2001 cover story 'We've Got the Juice,' begins with this intriguing lead paragraph: 'These women thought they had killer vaginas. Then they learned girls don't give guys AIDS. Now they're sticking it to the officials and advocates who made the myth of heterosexual AIDS,' and goes on from there into a surprising, sometimes bizarre, expose of sorts. Here are a few interesting quotes :'
If we are talking about a heterosexual AIDS epidemic, transmission efficiency would have to go both ways. It doesn't. It stops with a woman and will not cause an epidemic. Plenty of people have known and denied this from the beginning. It all started as a way for AIDS advocates to raise funds. Dr. Joesph Sonnabend, MD, founder, AmFAR 'According to the US Centers for Disease Control1s surveillance report for the year 2000, of all estimated AIDS cases, only 3 percent were heterosexually transmitted'
POZ journalist Patrick Califia 'Among New York City's 15,000 AIDS cases, there were only eight female to male transmissions, and I have doubts about seven.' Former Department of Health investigator Anastasia Lekatas.-
The article also includes the odd contention that men get AIDS from women in Africa and other developing nations, but they do not get AIDS from women in the developed worlds a difference that has not been adequately explained.
I did not find this issue or article at the POZ web site, but according to information there, you can purchase single back issues by calling toll free 800/9-READ POZ, or outside the US 815/734-4151. Please note that subscriptions are offered free of charge to HIV positives.

Conservatives have been attacked for years for saying this and been accused of being 'politically incorrect'.
Now everyone is admitting we WERE factually CORRECT.
What's new?
If it is, seems like there's an awful lot of homosexuals there.
Hmmmm. Must be something in their water?
There shoud be a liberal "follow list", to see if the liberal women give aids to other liberals.
I guess that's the only way to find out if the rumor is true.
Today in the middle of an 'aids epidemic' it remains at 2.2%.
Either every other disease has decreased in exact INVERSE proportion to AIDS, or AIDS in Africa is simply the old disease renamed.
It is easy to get funding for AIDS but almost impossible to get it for the old epidemic diseases that have ravaged Africa for centuries.
This isn't news.

I haven't been saying that. Heterosexual AIDS is not a myth although it isn't as prevalent as gay AIDS.
Of course it has.
Thousands of times.
Africa's "AIDS" is not!
Instead, to increase their ability to beg and to line up at the international public trough [Read: At the squandering of the confiscated wealth of America's (IE: Of the world's) most creative, innovative and productive!] Afica's gummints and the European-based criminal organizations [AKA "NGOs"] that assist their larceny, have changed the diagnosis of "AIDS" to EXCLUDE the HI virus -- and to include every African illness -- many of them caused by Africa's obscene politics -- known to medical science! And lots that are not so known!
I think it was obvious from the beginning that virtually all AIDS cases in America came from homosexual activity and dirty IV needles. The blood industry spread it for a period of time, knowing it was a blood-borne disease.
You meant "live among people" I hope.
So Sex With The Proper Stranger is like playing Russian Roulette with a 33 chamber revolver?
The headline is worse than misleading. The 3% figure must be modified by a sexual frequency figure. Homosexuals are thought to have sex more frequently than heterosexuals.
