All 18,000 police agencies in the U.S. have been notified and American citizens have been advised to be on heightened alert. No specificities were given other than what I have stated. I am disturbed at what I saw tonight. There was no specific information offered but Ashcroft appeared very ashen and serious. I have a feeling the government is sitting on some pretty scary information right now. I'm not sure that it is a good idea for President Bush to go to the game tomorrow night. But of course, he's going to go now that it's been announced to the whole world. If he backs out of the game now, it won't send a very good message.

Early this morning on FR, someone posted that the Israelis had arrested/detained a person along the Jordanian border. That detainee supposedly had a suitcase-size nuclear weapon.

No further information or news reports have surfaced regarding this incident, so it may have been nothing.

With so many rumors and unknown-but-averted incidents, we just need to stay alert.

Hate to sound pessimistic, but the AG took a deep almost trembling nervous breath on the open microphone before he began his remarks.
