"Do what you can, where you are, with what you have." - Theodore Roosevelt -
At no time in our lives have these words rung truer to the employees of Pumpkin Masters. Halloween is the one time of year when we touch millions of American families. In an effort to enable Americans to show their patriotism within the unique American Halloween tradition, Pumpkin Masters created Lanterns of Liberty, and is distributing, for free, three special patriotic patterns that we hope every American family will use to carve an extra pumpkin to honor our great country.
Lanterns of Liberty hopes to unite 10-million American households this Halloween in a display of patriotism. This movement is not about replacing your Halloween traditions; rather it is about helping you include the patriotic spirit as a piece of your existing celebrations.
Participating is easy. Just print out one of the patriotic pumpkin-carving patterns from the link below and use it on one of your jack-o-lanterns.
At the above link you can see the 3 patterns and how they would look when lit. When you click on the link for downloading it takes you back to Pumpkin Masters and you have to click on the Lanterns of Liberty logo. The other patterns are linked at the top of the page. There is also a pattern for Bush, located under the logo at the very bottom of the box.
They look pretty neat. I printed out all 4 and plan to carve two of them. Not sure which ones yet.
Anyway, I just thought perhaps some others might be interested in carving patriotic pumpkins.
Have fun!
We decided against our annual Halloween party this year and were still debating even carving pumpkins. I hate to deprive my 9 year old this pleasure.
We will definitely be carving a few of these patriotic pumpkins. Thanks so much
Made one "butt-ugly" mess of a pumpkin.
Gonna do the Jack-o-lantern motif this year, maybe stick a flag in the top.
Hope other Freepers have better manual skills than Mrs. Billorites and I.
You can also use pictures from coloring books. I've had to this a few times when my son wanted a T-Rex on the pumpkin! Turned out great.
I've used their patterns or coloring books for years and always get lots of compliments on them. One neighbor stopped by saying she looks to see what I will carve each year!!
Here's a couple of links geared towards kids.
The other two turned out great though!
