I explained that we were there to oppose the peace-NAZIS down at 41st street.
He looked at me and said, "Wait until Monday, there will be a switch in attitudes, there will be a "pole shift"..people will change their minds about that"
I didn't know what to think, he said it as if it was privelidged information of some sort that he was revealing to me, as if he knew there was some sort of incident going to happen on Monday, October 29.
I went to the cops there and told them what he said, and they dismissed it as a crank.
He did not look like some loser, not really, he was clean, adequately dressed, just a normal person.

October 29 Q: Why was this day in 1929 called Black Tuesday? A: It was the start of the Great Depression, a financial crisis that affected the whole world for about ten years. Stock market prices on the New York Stock Exchange dropped incredibly on this day, and continued to fall for a few years. As a result, many banks closed, businesses failed, companies had to cut production, and millions of people lost their jobs. President Franklin D. Roosevelt's "New Deal," and America's entry into World War II in 1941, borught the Depression to a close.

You're not paranoid. They're just out to get you. Don't worry about it.

Race this is not a world anymore to let anything go unnoticed. When you or any of us go anywhere we should be aware at all times.
You did right and if it still has you thinking about it I would report it to the FBI. It won't hurt anything and if it is nothing what is lost. Nothing.
If something happens then you know you did all you could to help.
I am proud of you.

Maybe he thinks it has something to do with Black Tuesday? If not, it's the 3rd anniversary of John Glenn going into space.

You could have at least asked him if there were any particular cities we should avoid!

He looked at me and said, "Wait until Monday, there will be a switch in attitudes, there will be a "pole shift"..people will change their minds about that" If 9-11 hasn't woken them up I don't think anything that happens on Monday will either. As far as I'm concerned the peace freaks ARE the enemy and should be treated as such.

About the timing of anything he may have been talking about, he said "Monday", not "Halloween" or "by next weekend", so I would think that by Monday or Monday is what we're looking at, would you agree from the way he said it? You should be proud to be paying attention to your surroundings and by posting this thread, it informs us all. I am wary of not paying some attention to these kinds of comments. If anything, to be on our toes and alert, right? Thanks for the post.

Was he in possession of a gerbil and some PVC pipe?

Race - your a great guy, I suggest you just write this guy up as a nut and be done with it. The suggestions to call or send a message to the FBI tipline are silly - does anyone think they are gonna send anyone to find this guy among several million in NYC just to ask him what he meant when he talked to you??? They will take you away in a tinfoil hat if you do this, lol.....
Please, people, get a grip, its not all about you. The terrorist do not want you, and you are not going to save the world. Get over it, join reality....

First impression, from what you are saying, is he was yankin' your chain.

I haven't read clear to the bottom of the thread yet, so someone else probably already mentioned this...
But, is it possible that he was an undercover officer and his ambiguous comment could be hinting that the "peace" movement may soon find a considerable number of their leadership in jail?

This is the NYPD we're talking about, right? They have certain unwritten rules: white guy is reported as having bothered females or minorities, take action. Anybody is reported as having pulled a gun, take immediate, aggressive action. Anyone is reported as having collapsed, take action. New rule: any reports of Sweet'n'Low-type powder, take immediate, aggressive action. All other cases: employ evasive action.

As a cop of 25 years, one of the most important things I had learned was NOT to rationlize about an event that you see or hear.
Trust your initial instincts. It's too easy to talk yourself out of something by rationalizing, as there are always alternative reasons why something isn't as you saw it, or believe it to have been.
Report it to the local cops and the FBI. Don't depend on either to inform the other. We pay these people to protect us, so who cares if they get ticked about your report or don't get ticked. Report it.
I always loved it when someone stepped up to the plate and reported something. It was like we were a team trying to do something.
Believe me if we're ever going to be as safe as possible, we all need to step up and report suspicious incidents and events.

I don't think you are paranoid or over reacting. Always trust your gut. Even if the FBI does nothing with your report, or nothing happens, you did the right thing.
