I guess it depends on what you consider terrorism. Who were the good guys, the Sanidnistas or the Contras? On a fictional level (but maybe not) had the government not done anything AGAIN after WTC, don't you think many good Americans would be considered terrorists for routing out the evil in our own country? We can only take so much of our government not doing anything when it is time to walk up to the plate ourselves.

However, when criticizing Colonel North for "trad(ing) weapons to terrorists," I was referring to Iran as the terrorists. Few Americans, especially at that time, would disagree with that assessment.
