Creepy. This year, the kids are hitting the houses we know.
The chance of a terrorist passing out candy is __%, but I'm still not willing to take the chance.
Maybe next year.

Very creepy.

I have to tell you that when I first saw the headline I expect this to be filed under the humor category, something a like a joke relating to Halloween being "suspicious people running around in masks" and all that.

Now I sort of wish it really was in the humor category.

Funny, I was in the Hackensack Costco the day before. Zisa, by the way, is a Democrat NJ Assemblyman (whom I ran against 2 years ago) as well as the so-called full-time police chief in Hackensack. His so-called "Republican" brother is the mayor of Hackensack. Yes, it does smell. He is now running for county sheriff in the election this Nov. 6.

Wiser to avoid trick-or-treating this year. These creeps might find a way to get adulterated candy into the stores.

INS violations? Do you think the alert Costco employees may have engaged in racial profiling?

I didn't notice the article mentioning the nationality of the voracious sweet-tooth.

Undoubtedly it was an oversight and not motivated by political correctness--not.

I have been waiting for the terrorists to target children. In Israel they love to attack school buses. Since they view all Americans as foreign occupiers on their planet and since they love to hit civilian targets all they see here is one big free-fire zone.

Hope they caught some of these creeps. It's remarkable that the tradition of trick-or-treating has survived in this day and age. Americans at heart are a people of good will. Unfortunately the world is not getting any better.

Meanwhile, we've decided give out baked beans and cabbage this year. The food is healthy and everyone can have a gas.

There was a thread here earlier about someone refunding some very large candy purchases a few days back. Imagine someone buying candy by the thousands and poisoning it, then bringing it back to the store for a refund. That was the jist of the story. Hope the FBI looked into that case too.

When I was a child I remember one Saturday morning my father and I went out to feed our chickens and gather some eggs for the customary family weekend breakfast. I figure that we must have had at least 20-30 of them (chickens). "They sure are quiet this morning" my dad mumbled to himself with a very visibly concerned frown on his face. As we neared the coop there was kind of a foul odor hanging in the still morning air. He slowly opened the coop door. "Stay outside!" he barked as he stepped inside. There was a lot of yelling of some very angry words that I was not used to hearing coming from my fathers mouth. I ran inside to find out what was wrong. What I saw inside was not very pretty. It was very obvious that our much anticipated Saturday morning breakfast would have to wait. Suddenly I did not have an appetite any more because inside I gazed upon all of our chickens strewn about, ravaged and bloody....motionless and very very dead. "Foxes" my dad repeated over and over... "Damn foxes." I am starting to experience the same sickening feeling in the pit of my stomach. Just as I did so many years ago. Only this time I seem to feel much like those poor chickens that went to rest one evening and never lived another day again. Only this time on a much much larger scale. I try pinching myself in hopes of waking myself up from this bad dream about some terrorist foxes running loose inside the only home that we have. This home that we call America, the land of the free. These foxes are here dwelling inside our country waiting to shed the blood of the innocents.

"However, the public is encouraged to remain alert but calm."

How does 'remaining alert' help keep your kid from being poisoned by a piece of candy?

Notice how government officials never give any advice on how to avoid terrorism? They simply tell people to 'remain calm.'

I'm sure that on September 11, if the government had been able to contact the passengers aboard the hijacked airliners, it would have told them to "Remain calm and cooperate with the hijackers."

We DO know that on September 11, the Port Authority of New York told evacuating WTC workers in the second tower to "Remain calm and return to your desks."

Memo to government: I don't intend to panic, and it's rather condescending of you to assume that I will panic. Furthermore, emotionally-irrational people are going to panic regardless, so telling them not to panic won't accomplish anything.

If anything, the lack of coherent, practical advice from the government makes me more concerned that the government doesn't have a grip on this.

If anything, the government's constant repetition of the ineffectual words, "Don't panic," cause me to wonder if maybe they're in panic mode.

There are four responses to danger: (1) Fight, (2) Flight, (3) Hysteria, (4) Denial. Which one is Homeland Defense on?
