Billy Graham - Sept 14, 2001 There is one thing about what happened (last Tuesday/Friday) that came in under the radar and escaped many Christians. For the first time in history, one man (Billy Graham) spoke the Gospel to the entire world at the same time. He gave the sermon at the National Memorial Service and was broadcast on every major television station in the U.S. and by satellite to the world.Every country in the world received this broadcast...and because it was a Geo-Political event, every leader watched and heard it translated into his/her language. Many ministers have their messages broadcast in other countries and carried around the world, but this is the first time that the entire world listened to the Gospel preached at one time. The World and All its leaders tuned in and heard the gospel. Never before has one individual preached to the leaders of the world and their country at one time.Mark 13:10 - And the Gospel must first be preached to all the nations Matthew 24:14 - And this Gospel of the King shall be preached in the whole world for a witness to all the nations and the end shall come. Romans 10 - whole chapter - particularly verse 18.One thought on this is that through Billy Graham today, Biblical prophecy was fulfilled. As we listened to him, retail stores had the entire service broadcast throughout every speaker in the store's audio system. It was on virtually every TV and radio station and people across America held hands and wept before God. Some say that the Holy Spirit came upon Billy Graham just as it did upon John the Baptist announcing the Kingdom of God is at hand. Some also believe that this is the most significant prophecy to be fulfilled since Israel became a nation in 1948. Agree or not, it was staggering to hear this. Scripture tells us often, to watch, take heed, and stay alert, for we do not know when the appointed time is.Mark 13:33. FYI

You know yours isn't the only interpretation of eschatology, I held yours for many years until after much prayer and study I was convinced of the amillennial interpretation. I'd also add that you can be sure that Graham's comments were not heard by a good bit of the world, it certainly was not broadcast in most of the islamic world.

You mean that the broadcasters over there would supress western "propaganda", free expression of religion, and not air unedited tapes from "da enemy"?

Note, this is not sarcasm directed at you, Mahone, it is aimed at those who believe that we should give our public access channels over to Osama bin Ladin to spill whatever bile he wants when he wants.

It may be related to that, but do not go around setting dates. The return of Christ may not happen for 500 years. We simply do not know.

Not really.  Billy Graham has been doing this for years, as has Falwell, the Mormons, the Pope and others.

Believe what you want. I've investigated your interpretation and it is no more likely than any other view. It all depends on what a person wants to believe. Most Biblical scholars believe the opposite of you. I went to a "Kingdom Now" church in Decatur, GA for years that espoused your view and it didn't shake mine. To each his own....

I was moving to think that all the world heard Graham, but remember there was also an Islamic mullah.
It may be that his presence would induce arabic nations to tune-in.
The think I watch for is not only preaching the Gospel to the world, but "making disciples of all nations"

The return of Christ may not happen for 500 years.

Israel will not regathered to the land again, after this time. And they simply won't last another 500 years -- given the demographics of the Islamics and the weapons which are being developed and their penchant for killing everyone who doesn't embrace Islam. I've read here on Free Republic, that given the demographics of the Islamics that the United States won't last another 20 years.

You have to believe a fairy tale to believe Israel will last another 500 years (as you're saying is "possible") the way things are going now. It's not possible. The world situation is simply too bad with the weaponry (biological and other weapons of mass destructinon) getting into smaller groups' hands. That makes for sure destruction -- unless Christ comes quickly -- which the Bible says He will -- in order to save the elect and set up His Kingdom.

Christ is not coming in 500 years..., but very much less than that. All it takes is "common sense" to see that. You don't even have to be a Bible scholar.

Unfortunately, there are many corners of the earth where Graham was not heard. Iraq, Oman, assorted third-world flyspecks, China... nice thesis, but that's the flaw.

He has tapes and CDs that he sells on the various things that he's preached and taught -- but -- you can also listen to the radio programs (for free) and then hear the same stuff. You just have to wait for the program to come up. Right now, he's got the following one (along with a few others). Listen fairly quicly because they "roll off" and others come on.

It came in so low under the radar it was "dead on arrival". It didn't happen. There's no way that he preached to the entire world. Although I've heard him before, I did not see him this time. And entire sections of the world and millions upon millions of people didn't hear him. In addition, they don't even know who Jesus Christ is. On top of that, they've never heard the mere mention of His name -- even uttered in a breath out of a person's mouth.

This is a fact that millions upon millions haven't even heard the mere mention of Christ's name, much less anything about the Gospel. They don't even know what it is.

The time during which the Gospel will definitely be preached to the whole world, will be during the Tribulation time. Then we'll see worldwide conversions.

Christ is not coming in 500 years..., but very much less than that.

I am sure it will be less, but do not make the mistake of setting dates and going up on the mountain to await His return. I don't know if you have ever heard of a guy, the president of Family Radio. He predicted the second coming to be in Sept on 1994. He was wrong, and I think he did a dissevice, in that, people sold their businesses, and gave away their possessions and waited. Some have been left destitute by that. When I was in the USAF (67 to 87) I thought the US would not last past the 70s. I was wrong there too. The point is, if you are ready for His coming, it really does not matter when it happens. It will still come as a thief in the night. Praise Him while you still can.
