Marwan Alshehhi was displaying signs of inhalation anthrax," says a U.S. Intelligence official, on condition of anonymity. "We believe he was handling anthrax, as part of his assigned duties in this ring which was and is operating in America." Marwan was aboard United flight 175, the second plane to strike the World Trade Center.

So who mailed the letter to Daschle on Sept. 18th in Trenton, a week after al Shehhi died? How did the worker in the Ford plant in Edison, NJ get what appears to be cutaneous anthrax?

Problems for the "domestic" theory. The actual findings of Anthrax so far are from letters from 1. Malaysia, and 2. Trenton, N.J., 3. Florida. I don't think Trenton is "backwoods" territory, as one source suggested was the source. Granted, this information could be faulty and not pan out, but I believe it is accurate.

The whole barrage of incidents could be Islamic terrorism coupled with copy catters sending inert powder, powder with inactive anthrax (like those guys in Las Vegas had a few years back), or copy catters with the real thing.

The pharmacist knows what Atta was looking for when he came in. He told the feds. The feds know if Atta wanted Cipro. If they are holding back, they need to cut it out right now. This nonsense of the Sun's editor's wife renting condos to two of the attackers being a whacky coincidence is B.S.

I suppose that the letters to Brokaw and Daschle containing arabic and anti US and Israel statements and praise for Allah are another coincidence.

Let's see. He ran a plane into a building, killing himself. Now, he's sick with anthrax. Is it fatal? ...just curious...fsf

Confidential sources in law enforcement are stating today that Marwan Alshehhi rented a home at 1504 Delray Racquet Club, Delray Beach, Florida from Gloria Irish, the wife of Michael Irish, editor of The Sun, a tabloid owned by American Media Inc., in whose Boca Raton headquarters the first anthrax death occurred and up to seven other infections are now reported.

But gosh, the nice lady from the FBI said that was just a coincidence!

Pay no attention to the man behind the curtain!

Currently, all infections are occurring within the major-market media community: persons at NBC, the Boston Globe and American Media (owners of The National Enquirer, The Star, and The Globe) have all fallen ill or demonstrated signs of anthrax infection.

Every single one. Please diagram this sentance for me.

This is almost all second-hand information that has already been reported from other sources.

The only new information is the "anonymous source" that says the second guy in the pharmacy, who indicated some sort of respiratory problem (with hand signals), was suffering from inhalation anthrax.

I'll bet that the author made up this source and used it to glue all the other pieces together.

I hate to say it but I hope this Anthrax scare is due to Middle East terrorists. It would be worse if a bunch of sick Americans are behind this.

That's what I had figured, they were going to die anyway, and also explains why letter mailer's body hasn't been found, cause you know the letter mailer would have gotten anthrax, too.

Bump. Former CIA director James Woolsey is on CNN now at 7:22PM Pacific basically stating that he believes Iraq is behind the Anthrax. He noted that manufacturing Anthrax so that the spores are the right size is very difficult. The Cult in Japan who did the Sarin attack tried using Anthrax and they couldn't properly size it, even though they had some masters degree level biologists in their cult working on the effort.

We tie this in to the arabic language threats in the letter towards the US and Israel, the Sun editor's wife renting condos to two of the terrorists, and we are getting close here folks. This is no anthrax picked up in a North Carolina Stream.

"Currently, all infections are occurring within the major-market media community: persons at NBC, the Boston Globe and American Media (owners of The National Enquirer, The Star, and The Globe) have all fallen ill or demonstrated signs of anthrax infection"

This is precisely the kind of misinformation that will lead to national hysteria. Most of those tested have neither "fallen ill" nor "demonstrated signs of anthrax infection". At best, they have tested positive for exposure to antrax.

Anthrax as Disinformation (a great article) points out that "Wool sorters inhale anthrax spores in small quantities continually (150-700 per hour), and only if they get a large dose does an infection get started."

Whether this sort of disinformation is part of a deliberate propaganda campaign or is itself heyteria remains to be seen.
