Statesmen may plan and speculate for liberty, but it is religion and morality alone which can establish the principles upon which freedom can securely stand. The only foundation of a free constitution is pure virtue. - John Adams |
Ah, but we already have word from the Bible that the Pharisees, among others, used tradition to make the scriptures of none effect, as has the Catholic church - to whit, Mary was perpetually a virgin after the birth of Jesus. That 'tradition' was baptized into Doctrine and thus we have both tradition and doctrine in a single belief that is contrary to scripture. As we can plainly see that Jesus had not only 4 brothers; but sisters as well.
Not only does your logic fail you; but, so too does your church. And their apologetics. The very apologetics in logic they have used to prop up all the other 'traditions' and 'doctrines' they claim are inerrant and not contradictory. Don't close your eyes to it. And if it confuses you, pray to God in Jesus name to clear the confusion that you may see it clearly. Nobody here wants to confuse you; so, take the time to consider it and pray about it. The goal is truth. Will you believe what the scripture says?
Well, you were right, it seems they took it out of the site and put a truly inspired one back in.
I am sure that we can trust this one to be the official policy of the RCC's. At least until something goes wrong again. :-)
What on earth are you claiming here? To have a direct intuition of God?
BTW, many of our dark-skinned citizens refer to their associates as "brothers" or "Bros".
Ok, what happened, fess up, did someone crash your site?
Why do you marvel so at something the scripture proclaims. Are you ignorant that the lord lives in Christians and speaks with them? Are you ignorant of the purpose of the Holy Spirit? Or would you call Paul, an Apostle a liar:
1 Corinthians 2:[1] And I, brethren, when I came to you, came not with excellency of speech or of wisdom, declaring unto you the testimony of God. [2] For I determined not to know any thing among you, save Jesus Christ, and him crucified. [3] And I was with you in weakness, and in fear, and in much trembling. [4] And my speech and my preaching [was] not with enticing words of man's wisdom, but in demonstration of the Spirit and of power: [5] That your faith should not stand in the wisdom of men, but in the power of God. [6] Howbeit we speak wisdom among them that are perfect: yet not the wisdom of this world, nor of the princes of this world, that come to nought: [7] But we speak the wisdom of God in a mystery, [even] the hidden [wisdom], which God ordained before the world unto our glory: [8] Which none of the princes of this world knew: for had they known [it], they would not have crucified the Lord of glory. [9] But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him. [10] But God hath revealed [them] unto us by his Spirit: for the Spirit searcheth all things, yea, the deep things of God. [11] For what man knoweth the things of a man, save the spirit of man which is in him? even so the things of God knoweth no man, but the Spirit of God. [12] Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the spirit which is of God; that we might know the things that are freely given to us of God. [13] Which things also we speak, not in the words which man's wisdom teacheth, but which the Holy Ghost teacheth; comparing spiritual things with spiritual. [14] But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know [them], because they are spiritually discerned. [15] But he that is spiritual judgeth all things, yet he himself is judged of no man. [16] For who hath known the mind of the Lord, that he may instruct him? But we have the mind of Christ.
You are so shaken and taken aback to run into a Christian who claims his birthright in the Lord and puts it to use. Do you not know you have the same birthright in Him by being saved and obedient to Him? Feel robbed yet?
Heaven forbid the truth should escape to the eyes of those they purport to teach the truth to. LOL. How quick the feet scurry to bury the truth in favor of an agenda.
This has got to be the all time "twisting" of a reading that I have ever seen. Good job dadwags. :)

This does not negate that duty. Jesus is King. He is also the Son of God and the First born natural heir of the line of David and to the Family. The family natural and spiritual responsibility first falls to Him. Or did you miss all these things in rush to make your point?

Uh... dadwags you might want to chech this out before you eat your plate of crow.
What the catholic church teaches:
MARY IS A PERPETUAL VIRGIN. The Catholic Church contends that Mary had no other children after bearing Jesus.
"The Blessed Virgin had no child other than Jesus. Such is, and has ever been, the faith of the Church, whom Christ has promised to assist till the end of time" (Any Questions?, p. 63). [ We must be careful to point out that this teaching WAS NOT the teaching of the church in the days of the Apostles, as we shall soon see! The phrase "has ever been the faith of the Church" is entirely false.]
"... the glorious ever Virgin Mary" (Vatican II documents, "Dogmatic Constitution on the Church").
What our God teaches from His Word:
Mary had other children after she bore Jesus. She was not a perpetual virgin!
"Is not this the carpenter's son? Is not his mother called Mary? And his brethren, James, and Joses, and Simon, and Judas? And his sisters, are they not all with us?" (Mt. 13:55-56).
How do you like your "Crow" medium Or well done? :)

Yehhhhhh
Thank you Havoc.:-)
Uh oh Big Mack......I smell a link comin' your way chosen from among Jerome, Arthur McGowan, Ignatius, Clement, Soothing Dave, Polycarp, Justin Martyr or somebody who knows more than the Bible. You've gone and done it now.
Man can you imagine having to keep all this stuff tidy? No wonder narrow is the way. I'm beginning to think all the intelectuals and scholars make it and nobody else. And don't flatter yourself Robby I'm not saying you a scholar.
This one can't be Big Mack. I've already assigned that title to Matthew 1;25. But this is worthy of honorable mention. :-)
I was just throw out of my altar boy duties in the 4th grade. I left on my own much later although had I been faithful in attendance I would have been excomunicated. Sheesh, its even confusing when ya leave. :-)
