California Democrats playing games only a few hours after the Attack on America!

Right now in California, Gov. Gray Davis has on his desk AB-25 which changes the definition of marriage in the state of California.

Here is the low-down on what scum bag politicians did in Sacramento. I just visited the ca.gov website and downloaded the bill history. I will reproduce it below. First, take a look at the analysis of what this bill does (provided by the trustworthy defender of Family Privacy (CRI).

From CRI's website at http://www.capitolresource.org/hot_bills.html Domestic Partners. Reintroduces a variety of expanded benefits for “domestic partners.” It undermines the will of California voters who passed last year's Prop. 22. In Migden’s letter soliciting co-authors for her bill she wrote, “In 1999, I authored California’s first statewide domestic partners statute … This new law finally recognized the needs of same sex couples and families. However, these families are still denied many of the legal protections other California families take for granted.” She then explained that her new bill corrects this “injustice.”

AMENDMENT: The bill was amended on July 18. The word "spouse" was dropped from the bill, however, AB 25 still says, "A person related by blood or marriage means...a person's spouse or domestic partner." If this bill passes, it will equate domestic partners with husbands and wives in certain areas of California law. According to gay activists, AB 25 is the "first step" to gaining gay marriage status in California.

Now, here is the low-down on the bill's passage. Please note that the bill was passed by final concurrance only 24 hours after the bombing at the World Trade Center.

BILL HISTORY 2001

Sept. 7 From committee: Amend, and do pass as amended. (Ayes 8. Noes 3.). Read second time and amended. Ordered to third reading.

Notice that they "passed" this bill to the Gov. as their "media" was entirely focused on the NYC and Pentagon disasters with 24-7 coverage. Most people do not know what is about to occur in California (until now :) )

It would have passed the legislature even if the news cycle was absolutely dead. You may not like it, but it is a fact.

yeah I know.

I think what makes me so disturbed is how they played a game with the California voters (trying to use the news cycle to cover up their antics). Well, they got found out!

Bones, I'm not sure enough of California's voters will care. Guys like Burton and Hertzberg running things don't give a damn about the newscycle, they know they have solid majorities and that most voters are completely ignorant about what goes in in Sacto...

UNLESS someone (conservative political groups) bring pressure to bear on "moderate Democrats" and bring it to voters attention. All hope is not lost, we're 5 months away from a primary election.

Geographically, California is nearly all red. Unfortunately, most of the population is in the blue zone. California needs to be split into two states. One containing Sacramento/Frisco, Santa Barbara/Los Angeles and one containing the rest of us.

I hear you. I feel the same way sometimes. But, we have a great opportunity to show the state how stupid the dem's are.

Let's look at Gov. Gray-out's achievements of the past year:

(1) No electricity

(2) No health care- 3 billion drained from California from 1999-2001

(3) No civil defense plans viable for our people
