What values? We give them 10 billion dollars in aid with the promise that they will stop building settlements. Israel said yes, after they recieved the aid they kept on building. Israel agreed to an international agreement not to build settlements but they just go ahead and build anyway. If Israel agrees to stop all settlements and recognizes a Palestinean state. Then if the Arabs keep up their terrorists campaign then to hell with the Arabs. Could you tell me how our country benefits economically from our ties with Israel? Most countries in the world would be our "friends" if we gave them unlimited funds, state of the art military equipment, and an assurance that we would back them militarily in any war. Please don't start with the antisemitic rhetoric. I have many jewish friends. Both sides are to blame but the US needs to examine all positions.

We give them 10 billion dollars

It is fun to see how this figure grows in your mind. Soon it will be in trillions. Keep your facts straight - the total help is arout 3 billion a year, most of which (1.8 billion) has to be spent on American weapon systems, i.e. put back into the American economy.

Well, I think the Arab world has stated often enough that Israel must cease to exist that we don't really need the exercise you propose to prove it. I've not always liked some of the things that Israel has done, but now I've seen the Muslim way of handling things, it seems to me that the choice of whom to support is clear.

A segment of "our" country beneits from the tie to Israel. This segment votes Democrat War Party every election. They are centered in Morningside Heights and Beverly Hills. They are very rich. They are Israeli/Americans. They keep the money flowing to the DWP. The Democrat War Party cannot offend this segment of the voting public, or they (DWP) will disappear. In return, the DWP, keeps the money flowing to this segment and they send it to Israel.

I am an European/American, Republican. I think this segment of the population I refer to is made up of excellent citizens, imaginative and productive. IF need be I would bring Israelis, that want to come, to this country and abolish Israel.

Government gives Pollard one-time grant of one million dollars

By Ha'aretz Service

The government has decided to give jailed spy Jonathan Pollard a special government grant of one million dollars, the Yedioth Ahronoth newspaper reported Thursday.

The decision to make the one-time grant was made after discussions held by the Prime Minister's Office and the Defense Ministry, following a special request submitted by Likud Minister Dan Naveh, who has visited Pollard in his U.S. jail in the past.

Pollard, the former naval intelligence analyst who was arrested in November 1985 by the FBI on charges of spying for Israel, was convicted and sentenced to life imprisonment. He has so far served 16 years of his life term. This is the first time he has received any financial assistance from Israel.

Israel agreed to stop building any NEW settlements. It reserved the right to allow existing settlements to grow. We didn't think that was enough of a "provocation" to cut off their foreign aid.

I personally don't think anyone has the right to tell Israel to not settle people in the West bank or Gaza. I find it repulsive that people would still maintain that there are places where Jews should not be allowed to live.

I find it particularly repulsive that anyone in the Middle East would keep Jews out, as most Arab countries do, since the Jews have been living in almost every part of the Middle East since recorded history began.
