Are you a GenX-er? That is the point, here. We're stuck inbetween, not really a baby boomer, not a GenX-er. Have fun!

The Outer Limits - still the scariest show ever on TV.

Lost In Space

My Favorite Martian

Variety shows where people actually performed live - Ed Sullivan, Jackie Gleason, Smothers Brothers, Sonny & Cher

F Troop and Hogan's Heroes - most un-PC shows ever!

Monty Python - I have ordered the Time-Life videos of all the shows from the 70s and am enjoying them along with my kids. "The Spanish Inquisition" and "Ministry of Silly Walks" are total comedy classics. One of the first things my husband and I realized we had in common when we met in 1982 was the ability to recite the entire "Penguin on the TV Set" routine, sing all the words to "Spam" and "The Lumberjack Song," etc.

R & B music, radio stations, and dance clubs that both white and black people enjoyed - the O'Jays, the Spinners, the Isley Brothers, TSOP, etc. It's sad to see how segregated our culture has become; this is not "progress" at all in my opinion.

The '70's were awful...malaise hung around for 10+ yrs, constant boom /busts, the Soviets lying about EVERYTHING, about the only good thing was sports.Football was fantastic, when the NFL had players with style and charisma;NHL had the HABS steamrolling to greatness, the NBA had the great Celtic teams, plus the Olympics seemed to matter.

My favorite was Carol Burnett. That was just plain silly.

Thanks, I forgot about Carol Burnett!! Tim Conway and Harvey Korman - two of the funniest people who ever lived! But Gleason was my favorite - my nickname in my family was Crazy Guggenheim! And my dad at that time was big and round and crazy just like Gleason. I wanted to be one of the June Taylor Dancers when I was little. And awaaaaay we go!!!

Baseball was pretty good in the 1970's: the Swinging A's, the Big Red Machine, Yankees-Dodgers.

Some rock music was pretty good: the Rolling Stones, Little Feat, and some other music.

Aside from sports and some rock music, the rest of the decade sucked.

The clothes were the worst. Remember those horrid platform shoes, Afros and puka beads? (puka beads, at least, are back.)

Does any one remember beer can collections or was that just a Wisconsin thing?

Remember Soap? Billy Crystal was in that. Remember when Bert saw aliens? Or when that guy drowned in his bowl of soup?
