And I have a question for you. You keep referring to "our" government, as in the US government, like you are a citizen or resident of this country. But at the end of your message, you called Iraq "my" country. So which country is yours?

Recognize that he is trying to change the subject. He is asking you not to focus on the question at hand, but to focus on whether America is good or bad. It is not relevant whether America is morally pure or always operates apart from expediency. Make Iraq and the character of its leader the issue.

Also, don't attack his character or beliefs like some are encouraging you to do. Just point out his logical error.

Recently, I had to listen to a Christian liberal give his views on U.S. retaliation. He basically stated that the U.S. has no right to retaliate because nobody keeps the U.S. accountable for its own "sins" and that Christians should be pacifists.

Ask for scripture that proves his point. If you don't have a good scriptural basis for your stance it may not be him that is wrong.
