Meet the B52 Stratofortress

This is the plane that made the Iraqis cower in fear. After the carpet bombing by our B52s, the Iraqi "soldiers" could not wait enough for the US ground forces to "liberate" them.

Oooooohhhh...Aaaaaahhhh............

Anybody got a light?

LMAO! And over just a few pictures?!

I imagine you have gotten some very strange looks from the other spectators if you've ever been to a military air show!

When I was in the Air Force B-52's were also known as BUFF's. That stands for Big Ugly Fat Fu..er, well you can figure out the last word!

They will probably be known to the Taliban terrorists as DEATH FROM ABOVE!

I don't know about you, but what a raw deal if death gets you virgins. Not much pleasure in that.

Perhaps this is where the term "cleaning out the dead wood" originated.

nice poem! my nephew works for them. don't know if the lay-offs will get him. he was a grunt at chu-lai along with his brother. he came in as his brother was leaving. their dad was in the air force in italy in WW2 and i print up a lot of his old black & white negatives that he took. he also received the bronze star for pulling guys from a crashed bomber. he retired from boeing after 29 years and worked in the wind tunnel. he passed away a couple years ago.

I am not sure if they are. Just a couple years ago I was still seeing them playing over the Lake of the Ozarks here in Missouri. Haven's seen any lately though. What an aircraft! We should take the leftovers and wire them up for unmanned recon. I don't think they would bring one of these down.
