Not at all. You are a libertarian, and it seems that many of you think that Christians mean the destruction of freedom.
Remember one thing, free will is at the heart of our beliefs. Always has been, always will be.

I thought it was a great speech. However, I do have one problem with his speech. When listing all of the totalitarian ideas that will be left in the "unmarked grave," the President listed Fascism and Nazism. He however did NOT say COMMUNISM!!! Is this because of our relationship to China and its importance to us or does President Bush really think that COMMUNISM doesn't deserves to be left in an "unmarked grave?' I hope I dont sound to cold or anything. This is my first post here. I haven't read anyone else's comments and was wondering if anyone else noticed this. Any comments about this?

Because you always seem to have a subliminal distrust of Christians, you seem to think that if we
don't agree with you that we are going to drag you off to the stake and burn you alive. Ah. Now I see. You wish to hijack a thread over your personal issues with me.
And you use the word "subliminal" because it allows you to make the accusation without having to provide a shred of evidence.
No, newbie, I have no problems with Christians. Some of the most prominent and devout Christians
on FR are my good and respected friends. I have common cause with them,
and we enjoy lively debate on everything from religion to philosophy to politics.
Grow up, and quit using FR for your personal vendettas.

You are a libertarian, and it seems that many of you think that Christians mean the destruction of freedom. Your impression is wrong, newbie.
Some of the most eloquent libertarians on FR are fundamentalist and/or devout Christians.

I noticed the omission, also. Bush probably was afraid the DimocRATS would walk out in protest.

I, too, would like to see some sort of sunset limit on the new agency, but I don't know whether such a limit would defeat the purpose of the agency. But I shudder to think what a socialist Congress, AG, and SCOTUS could do with this idea.
I did a search on "Home Defense" on Google. There are a lot of references. It seems that this is an idea that's been kicked around since at least 1997. The agency was even introduced as a bill to Congress at least once.
Here's a website devoted to the proposition: http://www.homelandsecurity.org/journal/index.cfm

I've certainly done my share of bashing Bush on domestic policy issues (yes, he IS better than Aldork, though), but this was a magnificent speech impressively delivered. I especially liked the portions where he made it absolutely clear that we will also destroy terrorist-protecting states.
I'm behind this guy on this issue 100%, for as long as it takes. You've sold me, GWB - now let's go kick some terrorist ass!

Because you always seem to have a subliminal distrust of Christians, you seem to think that if we don't agree with you that we are going to drag you off to the stake and burn you alive. Correct. He admitted he didn't know if there was a god.
He hasseled me the other day.
He seems to pick out one poster and argue.
I think he just likes the attention.
Have fun.

Standing "O" for you, Tony.......
Bravo!

Did anyone notice how uncomfortable Laura Bush looked tonight. It was if she was anxious about something. Of course she is. Terrorists world-wide are Bush's #1 target -- and as a result he is theirs.
I'm sure she knows about all the anti-mafia prosecutors and judges who have been car-bombed or gunned down. The parallel is obvious.

I recorded the replay on C-SPAN. When I have children, I will show them this speech so that they may have a sense of what America is all about
To: birdie2

same critter, different name.

He admitted he didn't know if there was a god. Incorrect. I stated I do not believe in any gods.

LOL!!!! Yeah, I guess you're right. Hillary probably would have booed the President if he had included communism. I couldn't believe how bored she looked, even as everyone else was clapping...she just stood there with her head cocked to the side and clapped in slow motion.

Fascism and Nazism. He however did NOT say COMMUNISM!!! Is this because Well....he did say Nazism, fascism, and totalitarinism. That just about describes communism, while still keeping his butt covered.
Hillary probably peed her pants when he said totalitarinism though. That's her goal.
No wonder she was depressed. He nailed her.

Senator Zell Miller said the following (as quoted on WXIA in Atlanta):
"This is one of the greatest speeches in American history. I would follow him to hell and back."
I could not put it any better myself.
God Bless President Bush
God Bless our Armed Forces
God Bless America

Wow, what a testimony. I would love to be a fly on the wall in his prayer closet.President Bush is a shining example of the transforming power of Jesus Christ, is he not? He is a man of discipline, in study of Scripture, and in prayer, and he is exactly what this country needs at this hour.
He was asked the other day what we should pray for and he said "Keep up what you're doing. It's working." Then he added, "Pray for my little girls." I love George W. Bush.

Hey back, cutie! I am ON TOP OF THE WORLD tonight!!! How 'bout yourself?I am so proud of our president and so thankful to God. My phone has been ringing off the hook with people that feel just as we Freepers do. I know that George Bush was chosen for this time in history. May God protect him every minute !!!!!!

This is my first post here. I haven't read anyone else's comments and was wondering if anyone else noticed this. Any comments about this? Other than to say that your's was a very astute comment....why would you not bother to at least read one comment before making your "first post here"?
The matter you mentioned could have been the bone everybody was chewing at......but you wouldn't know that, because you "haven't read anyone else's comments" and was content to simply "wonder".
