Hockey fans are the best, as are the players who were focused on the President's speech (especially when you consider that 70% of them are Canadian).
I used to hate Ranger fans, too.

PHILADELPHIA -- With President Bush on the big screen, hockey suddenly didn't matter anymore, not to the Philadelphia Flyers and New York Rangers or the thousands of fans. Thank God for Bush, the right person for these times.

Sorry -- Maybe I still hate Ranger fans. Looks like this game was in Philly.
LOL!

This is truly amazing. I've never heard of a hockey game called like this after 2 periods. I know it's pre-season but still. And Phillie fans cheering for NY? Anyone have a flying pig graphic, because they did tonight in Phillie...

Alright! From a Philly Flyer fan.
The patriotism in the Philly area has been just amazing this past week.

I've never heard of a hockey game called like this after 2 periods. You missed the World Junior Championship semifinal game back in the mid-1980s, between Canada and the Soviet Union. The two teams got into a huge bench-clearing brawl, and it was so out of control that they called the game. To get the fans to leave the arena, they turned off the lights while the players were still scrapping on the ice.
I think Czechoslovakia won the championship that year because both Canada and the USSR were disqualified.

Thanks for posting this. I just have this smile on my face thinking about the players and the fans.

Paul...thank you...I'm smiling. Your Welcome. I was just checking the scoreboard to see how the Red Sox did (while there were ads on all 4 cable channels!). They won, but who cares now.
God Bless The USA!

Oh my goodness! We are indeed witnessing a sea change here. Cancel a game to watch the President speak?
To: paul in cape
Wow....what class. Yes, it is pre-season, but still.

President George Bush-uniter, not divider! It was in his eyes tonight-the resolve, the sincerety of beliefs, the love of country, the words of truth, we had been missing in a president for too long. Oh, happy day!
