In the Al Faridah al Ghaibah the Neglected Duty trans by Prof. Jenkins ( a must read). The original work al-Faridah al-Ghaibah by the Egyptian Muslim activist & engineer Muhammad Abd al-Salam Faraj, characterized military jihad as an unfulfilled duty incumbent on all Muslims; it was the manifesto of the group which assassinated Anwar al-Sadat. For an English trans., see: Johannes J.G. Jansen, The Neglected Duty: The Creed of Sadats Assassins and Islamic Resurgence in the Middle East, New York: Macmillan, 1986; 159230.]
In it The Egyptian Brotherhood Gemaah makes it plain that overthrowing secular regimes like Egypt or insufficiently Muslims regimes like Saudi take precedence over liberating Jerusale. They insist that it is incumbent upon every Muslim to reinstate the Caliphate, purify all the Muslim nations, and then to purify the rest of the world.

I had made my regrets on another post re my somewhat off the wall posts during these last eight days. I had informed the Freepers who where asking for subscriptions, that I would honour their requests. I said I would become more cogent in future, rather than tee off in all directions. Ah well, so much for good intentions. On page A19 of yesterdays National Post is a cartoon. It shows the stark hills marked Afghanistan. There are two tombstones. The first is captioned "19th Century Britain". The second is captioned "20th Century USSR". A third figure is a somewhat weak soldier figure and on his back is "21st Century USA. Ok. let me at it: Once more for everyones information. The British received one of their most terrible defeats in the retreat from Kabul in 1842. 85% of the Army Of The Indus was wiped out. In the Second Afghan War,(1878-1880) three well equipped and trained columns assaulted the Afghans. One column was led by Maj.Gen Frederick Roberts. In an epic march from Kabul to Kandahar- 300 miles in 20 days, Roberts led his men to attack the Afghans who had wiped out 1300 of 2000 men at Kandahar(A holding regiment at base camp). Maj.Gen Roberts saved about 700 desperate defenders and defeated the Afghans. He was known as Field Marshall Lord Roberts of Kandahar there after. Ok, besides the English old line regiments of foot, were the 92 Highlanders(thank you Scots) and the immortal Ghurkas. Believe it or not, others involved were the Indian Army and soldiers from where is now Pakistan(The Peshawar Force). Yes, either the media is re-writing history or they dont read it. Once again, Britain won the Second Afghan War. Oh yes, go to it gentlemen, you know who you are.

BUMP!

And that is why being nicer will not help. It is not because of what we do but of what we are that radical Islam see us as its deadly enemy. Bump

they are not psychotic. Given their belief in a certain strain of Islam, their behavior makes perfect sense. True, this all rests on an interpretation of the Koran repudiated by modern Muslims, but these Muslims are not modern.Bullcrap. This bunch are psycho killers with a thin veneer of religion on top. Maybe more of a death cult than a religion. What were there murderers doing at the tittie bar getting drunk the in the days before they crashed the jet plane into the WTC?

A new kind of war, a new kind of enemy, neither of which the West is prepared to fight. I think this writer, and others, are going to be disabused of this assumption.
