There was also a column in the NY Post on Tues advocating letting cops fly free, if they were armed. The idea was that it is a nice little perq, and no one in his right mind will try taking over a plane if there is an armed man on it.
Apparently the LIRR tried the same thing with its commuter rail. It worked.
