Now again the civilized world has witnessed the true nature of barbarism, not the Hollywood presentation but the reality. Civilization has witnessed it before: the Nazis stomping the unarmed, the communists pillaging the bourgeoisie, Middle Eastern terrorists slaughtering unarmed Jews and Christians and, in 1993, Americans in their first atrocities at the World Trade Center.

I am so sad about Barbara Olson's passing (along with countless thousands of other victims). I read that she was actually supposed to fly out on Monday, but postponed until Tuesday so she could share breakfast with Ted on his birthday.

I wrote the following and posted it as a reply on another thread:
When her name was announced over the airwaves as one of the fatalities, I could scarcely believe my ears. I was stunned, shocked beyond words. My second reaction was denial -- ie, this must be a mistake...it couldn't be our Barbara Olson.
Then the confirmation came on the Fox News channel.
I don't cry easy, but I did weep for her. I can't even begin to fathom what Ted must be going through, the excruciating pain, anguish and heartache.
My heart goes out to him, and to the rest of her family and friends.
Barbara Olson was a genuine patriot; she loved America deeply, and her devotion to the rule of law and the constitution was passionate and complete.
We will never forget her. She will sorely be missed.

I'm with you; this is what put me over the edge. I still cry every time an article is posted about it. This brought it home to all of us.

Dear JohnHuang2 - thank you for posting this.
How amazing to read that Ted Olson says: No long faces here!
How fortunate our nation is to have him in the Bush administration! Our deeply tragic that we have lost his beloved Barbara!
Somehow, the resolve that we all must share now to do whatever is needed to save our great nation and to preserve freedom and to defeat the festering cancers of anti-American, anti-freedom liberalism, that have grown and invaded every aspect of American life will now be cast in steel. I pray and believe that Ted Olson will be an anchor in this ongoing struggle. I believe even more will look to him for wisdom and counsel for our beloved President Bush - and through him - our nation.
The terrorists - and all who were dancing in glee outside and inside this country - at the death of one of our greatest stars in the fight for freedom - Barbara Olson - will find that while they have taken this champion from our midst - they will have inspired hundreds, perhaps thousands, of those who knew her and loved her - to follow her footsteps in the fight for freedom. May it be so!

I wonder if they are going to delay the release of her new book (ordered mine last week), to save what little reputation the Clinton's have left. It was already going to be a big seller, but now many more people are going to read it. This can't be good for the Clintons.

I now Barbara was a Freeper under the screen name: "BOK"
Can you or anyone find and re-post some of her words here on Free Republic?

I googled and Freep searched...nothing under "BOK".
But I remember that handle. I must not be doing the search properly.
To: JohnHuang2
Try "BKO."
To: Cyber Liberty
No luck using "BKO", either. Thanks anyway, CL.
