What the new WTC should look like... (humour)
Photoshop ^

Posted on 09/12/2001 6:50:00 AM PDT by Grig

Ok, being one of those conservative religous types, I don't use swear words or rude gestures, but I have my limits so please forgive me if this offends you.

I think they should rebuild the WTC, and this is what we might want to make it look like, to send a message.

You have to post to a website and then link the picture.

Think of each building as a finger on your hand. This was going around AOL last night.

tripod blocks it if I put a link directly to the picture, so you have to click the link.

Perhaps someone could mirror it at a friendlier site?

Was it that exact picture did someone else just have the same idea I did? I created it myself last night and put it on tripod at 11:30pm (EST).

Up all night and terribly slow this morning--so thanks for the explanation! It would have taken me a month of Sundays to figure that out!

It will not be rebuilt. As in OK city, there will be a memorial park.

Rebuilding it--as satisfying as it would be in either configuration--would only be an invitation to bring it down again.

I gave serious thought before I forwarded this on to my friends, and I decided this doesn't make light of the tragedy but rather reflects America's resolve in the face of adversity.

It was met with quite a few chuckles :)

Sorry, but building a park like that just seems like wallowing in the mire to me. There will always be something to target so I don't see any reason to not rebuild it, and I think rebuilding it sends a more positive and defiant message than any park could.

That's right!

And on a practical level the land is too valuable for that to happen.

Grig - I didn't see it, but my daughter was on AOL last night and told me about it. I asked her about it this morning and she said there was no pix, it was just a description by someone on AOL who was really angry.

Thanks, that wasn't me however. I've never been on AOL and never will be.

" I think rebuilding it sends a more positive and defiant message than any park could."

Surrounded by anti-aircraft nests prepared to shoot down a civilian airliner? That ought to make it prime commercial property!...Would you rent office space there? Would Merrill Lynch?

Or the terrorists will figure out another innovative way to trash the replacements: another one nobody thought of. Maybe, I dunno, a suitcase nuke.

Well then let's all move out of all tall buildings and live in caves and stuff. There will always be a building to target, witht he WTC gone, the Empire State Building becomes one.

Rebuilding shows these idiots that they accomplished verry little. Do you really want them to have a monument they can point to, puff out their chest and say 'we did that'?
