It truly was like watching a movie...

I woke up to this on the radio, after 4 hours sleep. At first I thought it WAS a movie or book promo. Very disorienting, believe me. Me: "huh? what! WHAT THE F***!.

I have lived in Daytona Beach since 1977...Embry Riddle has quite a few foreign students who learn to fly here,and then go back to their country of origin...I have met quite a few thru the years playing music here in some of the clubs... a lot of middle-eastern folks who seemed to think it was neat that they get their training here,and then go back to the middle east and fly military planes....to quote one of my friends who described the practice"...come to U.S...learn to fly jets..go home kill Jews..."......kinda strange and very sad if true...after today the quote could be..."come to U.S....learn to fly jets...hijack American planes...and kill Americans on own soil"....

Wow, that is awful, I had no idea about all of the foreign student pilots in this country--there are definitely drawbacks to being a free society. Not that I would want to change that or anything.

As far as the Florida comments people are making--I don't blame you! My husband and I joke every time there is a serial killer on the loose, ect. "Why look anywhere else, he's probably here!" And, more often than not, they are.

Sigh... Between the election and this, it is starting to get *really* embarrassing. All we need now is Reno as governor. AAAHHH!

My understanding is that Barbara Olsen, along with all other passengers on her flight, were forced by hijackers to go to the rear of the plane. Then all those who had cell phones were told to call family members and tell that they were going to die.

Suspicious Car May Have Ties to Hijacking
WFTV Eyewitness News

The FBI is said to be investigating a suspicious car found Tuesday near Daytona Beach. Eyewitness News has learned that an employee of Airport Storage called police to report the car.

They were concerned that the car, which was left there, had what appeared to be a picture of Saudi dissident Osama bin Laden and a United Arab Emirates emblem in the back window.

Police had the car towed. They say it was registered to a man who was a student at Embry Riddle Aeronautical University until June of this year. Neither the school nor the FBI would comment on the case.

However, ABC News has learned that multiple search warrants are being served throughout the United States in connection with the hijacking investigation, including some in Florida.
