At our college in Buffalo, NY, classes were cancelled in the afternoon. I was there when the announcement was made and there were people gathered around the TV watching silently and in shock at what was happening. I ran into some of my students and we hugged and commiserated. A Sudanese student was anxious to speak and he told us about Bin Laden's presence in Sudan. He has seen first hand what Islamic fanatism can do; after all two million of his countrymen have been killed in the Civil War there. A student from West Africa had also suffered from Islamic fanatics and was very emotional to say the least. Two students from Bosnia (Serbs) observed gravely that their country has suffered under Muslim insurgents but did not go into Clintoon's horrible mistakes in that region. Several American students were crying and everyone looked just plain shocked. I did not see any of the Yemeni Muslim students anywhere.
