This shows that left-leaning cultural hacks...even though they depend on the goodwill and support of the entire money-spending public...are willing to risk their businesses and financial futures because of their hatred of Republicans.
In the end, it's not about money. It's war.

What's a Sunday paper?

I thought he's married to one of the Cuomo spawn, so he's never gonna be anything other than a liberal Democrat. He's also very dumb, QED.

I just wondered if anyone else noticed. But let one frame of a Bush campaign commercial (1/30th of a second) show a word fragment of "rats" and there's hell to pay.
You're right, Deb. It's war. Thanks for the post.

The only designer I need for my daily wear is Jean Claude Penney and Ran Gler. Why waste hard-earned money on these wrong-headed A-holes and their overpriced shmattes...

It's a good thing it's not about money - because they aren't making any. With print sales down overall, and with the crash of the fashion industry over the past five years, it's a sure bet that you'll be seeing more and more desperate attempts to get somebody's attention - ANYBODY's attention. It's just that no one will see it, and when they do see it, they won't care.
Perhaps if Cole and other "fashion" designers stopped hating women so much and started making clothes that women like to wear, they would find themselves a market again...

War it is. The leftists are on the march, and they will use every trick in the book.
I give as little money as possible to any industry which supports this attitude...that means Hollywood, the recording industry, Martha Stewart, network television, etc.
I would encourage all people to actively pay attention to advertising and public comments of celebrities and designers. They have the right of free speech, but they do not have a right to my support.
Good analysis, Deb!

I haven't seen the ad but my wife's "fashion" mags are always chock full of leftist drivel.
Bazaar seems one of the least offensive. It seems all the writers are either agenda driven gays or women with very pent-up feminist frustrations.
What irks me more than their collective agenda is how they PRESUME that anyone with any fashion sense should automatically subscribe to their views.

I never understand why people in the retail business taking political stances. Kenneth Cole should look to what happened to Bennetton in the USA.
To: Miss Marple
There are a few right leaning designers, like Scassi, Bill Blass, Carolina Herrera, but they also must make clothes that affluent liberal women will wear, so you may not hear them spout off about politics.Valentino is a wing nut, rest assured, and I'd suspect Givenchy is also.

It always amazes me that so many clearly misogynistic homosexuals dominate the world of women's fashion. If anyone knew how to design clothes to make women feel comfortable, it would be women. If anyone knew how to design clothes to make a woman look attractive, it would be normal men who spend a good deal of their time admiring attractive women.

He's part of the clan now, so he's just has to express himself.Stupid business sense, much like those egregious Bennetton ads.

Valentino is very light in the footwear dept, but his stuff makes the ladies look good, even the drape of Armani can flatter very nicely too.Versace made them look like whores, instead.
To: wideawake
Danny Kaye had a routine (I think in "The Secret Life of Walter Mitty") in which he played "Anatole of France," a hat -designer who makes the most outrageous women's hats. In the end, he admits why he does it: "I hate women."
Much funnier seeing it than having it described, of course.

Which Sunday paper? You don't mention which city in your post. My hunch is that you live in an area heavily populated with socialist democraps and the ad campaign is directed at them.

The only designer I need for my daily wear is Jean Claude Penney LOL Is he by any chance related to Jacque Penier the famous french designer whose clothing my uncle always bought? Ah yes, Kenneth Cole, just another overblown, overpriced clothing line we can gleefully avoid. Our 'designer clothes' seem to some from mostly Lands' End these days; they have the 'ahem' Womens' sizes for me and my daughter can get elastic waist jeans. She hates regular waist jeans, and absolutely cannot abide the low riders. She thinks it is stupid to go around with your midriff showing. What did I do to deserve such a sensible child? Now if I can only get her behind in gear to do her homeschool work!!

If that isn't bad enough, look at this -- from Kenneth Cole's website. FREEP THIS LOUSY POLL. Click on the poll to the left to go to the URL and then click on "COLE POLE." |
