I don't see it mentioned that Sue Grafton, the mystery writer, based one of her "alphabet" stories on incidents at Ia Drang and consequences many years later in the States.

I'm pretty sure it was "O is for Outlaw."

Not that the novel has any material of historical interest :-) Just a passing note.
