Democrats in Congress have openly told the Trump administration and their benefactors to 'lawyer up,' prepare for subpoenas and expect to testify on Capitol Hill come next year.
The top Democratic member on the House Oversight Committee, Robert Garcia of California, is expected to become the powerful investigative panel's chairman come January 2027 – a promotion enabling him to set the agenda and legally compel witnesses to reveal their secrets.
'Anything that has to do with Trump family corruption is going to be looked at on day one,' a Democratic congressional official with knowledge of the committee's plans granted anonymity to discuss them told the Daily Mail.
'Anyone colluding with the Trump administration, anything regarding corporate corruption is going to be top of the list as well,' the source added.
There was a laundry list of items the source discussed that could be potential sensitive areas of investigation, with implications for the president's family, his business partners, advisors and White House staffers.
Probing Donald Trump Jr's May 2026 wedding to Bettina Trump and Jared Kushner's 'mysterious island pursuits' that he and Ivanka have,' are just some of the offerings Democrats are circling.
Trump Jr and a representative for Kushner were contacted by the Daily Mail for comment.
Outside of the president's inner orbit, there are plans for large-scale, tedious reviews of the Department of Homeland Security and Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), both of which have seen massive funding booms during Trump's second term.
Finally – perhaps the most self-inflicted controversy Democrats on the Oversight panel are seeking to put to bed: probing the Trump administration's handling of the Jeffrey Epstein files and its 'client list' went so mysteriously sideways after years of MAGA figures championing the trove's full, unredacted release.
Republicans are bracing for impact.

Trump should issue blanket pardons before January 3. And I’m talking down to the level of anyone in the donor lists that Jack Smith was illegally working at the DOJ.
tell dems to pound sand. And if they try to bring charges simply pardon them.
Back in 1977, Jimmy Carter issued a blanket pardon to thousands of draft evaders from the Vietnam War. Trump needs to do the same regarding everyone connected with his administration.
I don’t think a pardon would free a person from having to testify before Congress. Well, then take a page from Hillary Clinton’s manual. “I don’t recall.”
🤷♀️
“I do not recall that.”
“I have no knowledge of that.”
“You mean like with a cloth?”
And here is the difference between the DSA and Republicans. Republicans have self interest as their motivation. The DSA has quite a few true believers who will use power to further the DSA agenda, and capture power permanently.
Give democrats the reins of power over government offices and they’ll promptly abuse the rights and responsibilities of their offices to harass and persecute their political opponents. Recall Obamas IRS harassment of conservatives and spying on the Trump campaign. Biden strong arming social media companies into censoring conservative voices. All the lawfare against Trump.
I think that is a good idea...if it can be done. Well, we know it can be done because Joe did it.
Dems are all about disrupting lives...
By a new federal law, eliminate compulsory attendence for Congressional hearings.
By a new federal law, bar persons appointed by Trump or employed by him or his companies from testifying before Congress.
By a new federal law, the budget of ICE shall be that approved plus $1 so the two-year limit for armed forces can’t be used to shut it down.
Blanket pardons would help, but the Dems will just drag the pardoned in for endless show hearings anyway, with compelled testimony.
Donnie JR wedding being funded by Putin’s best friend
will be very interesting hearing.
The Presidents own son wedding funded by our main enemy Russia will get big ratings.
Thank you Trump for damaging our 2028 chances.
What the heck was going on in that WH.
Trump is no more or less corrupt than any other President. What they are really mad at is he’s been enforcing federal laws. They were never meant to be enforced...they were always understood to be window dressing to placate the masses. That’s the real crime he’s guilty of. In any case, instead of governing might as well do a bunch of kangaroo courts.
Can we teach the Trump children the same response Dr Fauci had? “by advice of my council, I plead the 5th” over and over and over again. Fuck em, good for goose, good for gander.
Weren’t the Democrats just last week screaming political assault, political overreach.
Such as, “Rep Pramila Jayapal led the effort accusing DHS and DOJ of weaponizing law enforcement”
Yet if Republicans try to say the same thing, The left will again chant “ No one is above the law”
The democrats’ three idols-Stalin, Mao, and Hitler……
The Blue Wave made it unnecessary to do all that....they won, there’s no upside to doing it.
Just ride out the next two years and waltz into the White House in 2028. Game over!
Hypocrisy is a commodity in DC.................
The Republican Congress can vote to end, effective January 1, 2027:
1. withholding taxation except for FICA,
2. 1040 taxation of
a. wages, salaries and self-employment income totaling less than constitutionally protected compensation of any federal judge,
b. interest & dividends totaling less than 10% of the constitutionally protected compensation of any federal judge,
c. capital gains and employee bonuses totaling less than 20% of the constitutionally protected compensation of any federal judge, and
d. IRA distributions.
Then Trump can negotiate with key Democrats over the future of the USA.
