Got a few million dollars? You could own Gov. Mikie Sherrill longtime home in Montclair now that she’s living in New Jersey’s official governor’s mansion.
Sherrill and her husband, First Gentleman Jason Hedberg, are selling the house they’ve lived in for the last 16 years. They recently placed the six-bedroom, four-and-a-half bath Victorian — built in 1865 — on the market.
Sherrill and Hedberg bought it for about $1.7 million in 2010, according to state property records.
This comes about two months after Sherrill and her family moved full time to Drumthwacket, the Garden State governor’s mansion in Princeton, in August.
“We have loved our time in Montclair, and Essex County will always feel like home for us,” the couple said in a statement Wednesday. “This is where we raised our kids and built an amazing community that supported us through many milestones. Now, we’re so excited to be living in the People’s House at Drumthwacket and embracing Princeton as our new home.”
Katie Scandalios, the listing agent with Stanton Company Realtors, told the website Montclair Local that showings for the Montclair house are by appointment only, though there will be an open house for real estate agents.
