Republican Sen. Jon Husted leads Democrat Sherrod Brown by less than a point in Ohio’s 2026 U.S. Senate race, according to polls.
The survey, published by ActiVote, put the appointed incumbent at 50.2 percent to the former senator’s 49.8 percent, a 0.4-point edge among 400 likely voters, well inside the poll’s 4.9-point margin of error. The firm conducted the poll between September 26 and October 18, with a median field date of October 7.
ActiVote reported that the contest comes down to the middle of the electorate.
“The race is decided in the center, where Husted leads by 56% to 44%,” the firm wrote in its analysis.
The pollster found Husted ahead among rural voters, men, white voters, those aged 30 to 64, and voters with no more than a high school education. Brown led among suburban and urban voters, women, black voters, the youngest and oldest voters, and the college-educated. ActiVote noted the subgroup figures carry a considerably larger expected error than the topline and that Ohio does not register voters by party.
A second survey pointed the same direction. The account Political Polls posted Rasmussen Reports numbers from October 14 showing Husted at 49 percent and Brown at 47 percent among likely voters, which the account characterized as a five-point shift toward the Republican from an earlier result.

This means absolutely nothing.
It might mean that traitor Brown is down by at least 4.
Sherrod Brown did not want our POWs released because then there would be nothing keeping us from bombing Hanoi. IOW he is another Hanoi Jane. If you live in Ohio and don’t vote then you are just as big a traitor.
Click-bait headline.
Common sense Americans coming home.
Polling organization I never heard of, nearly a 5% margin of error. Not too useful.
Do brown voters know nothing? 😵
You has the sadz because the ‘Publican pulled ahead?
I sorry.
The title implies the race was over and Sherry Brown lost. Click-bait. Most people would be intelligent enough to recognize what I meant. But not people who speak pidgin English.
Common sense Americans coming home.
>> The title implies the race was over and Sherry Brown lost
Only in the fever swamp of your own Republican-hating TDS mind does the headline imply that. Of course you fervently hope “Sherry Brown” (translated from pidgen to actual English, Sherrod Brown) pulls it out, so that works to influence your emotions and said emotions apparently rule your thought process.
Most of us sane normals take it at actual face value: it’s just another poll, of opaque provenance, well within the margin of error, albeit positive for the challenger, which is refreshing.
I still sorry for your sadz.
You are deranged.
You would know deranged, wouldn’t you?
I am not out of my mind with vitriol and hatred like you.
Wait... what?
You get vitriol and hatred from where, exactly?
Methinks you’re projecting...
All I said was the headline was clickbait and you went out of your mind and fantasized that I was all sorts of things that are complete fantasy. You can check my 28 years of postings to confirm.
You are not well.
>> You can check my 28 years of postings to confirm.
ROFL! I only need to check your last six months of postings to confirm that you are out of your frigging mind with TDS, praying... PRAYING... that the DemonRats will defeat the Righteous Party, and... what?? Usher in an age of proving your libtard hate-Trump hate-Republican view to be totally counterproductive? What a maroon you are!
You got the name “Nervous Tick” when you were in the mental institution, didn’t ya?
I don’t waste my time on mental cases.
