A family text message on her sister’s phone is what triggered the raid on embattled “Squad” Rep. Ilhan Omar’s (D-Minn.) Washington, DC, home, according to a bombshell report.
Federal investigators seized the phone of Omar’s sister, Sahra Noor, earlier this year, as they began looking into whether Somalia-born Omar conspired to commit immigration fraud when she came to the US, three people familiar with the matter told the New York Times.
The text messages were used to secure a federal judge’s approval for Department of Homeland Security agents to raid Omar’s home Monday, when they seized the congresswoman’s phone, passport, notebooks and personal computers.
Noor, who currently lives in Kenya, skipped a scheduled event in Rochester, Thursday, to promote her new book, “Salt in the Snow: A Somali Immigrant Story,” citing a “family emergency” amid the fallout from the raid.
Federal agents also went dumpster diving to collect DNA from Omar’s trash before the raid, sources told NewsNation.
“To me, if they are obviously trying to obtain DNA, then, yes, that is a very easy get, especially if it was discarded even in a trash can,” former FBI special agent Tracy Walder told the outlet.
The evidence is expected to go before a federal grand jury in Minnesota, to determine whether Omar and her family lied when they immigrated to the US in 1995.

If the sister was in Kenya, how did they see the message on her phone that “triggered” the raid?
I note the raid confiscated her “passport”, singular.
Is she now in Somalia, with her Somalian passport?

Yep. This is merely an irritation for Omar. She will be sure that people on the right pay when the DSA takes over.
The above is from my own brief research. I have ALWAYS believed Ilhan Omar is/was the RING LEADER of the Somali fraud in Minnesota and I hope and pray that THIS is what is being investigated and that SHE WILL BE ARRESTED for these crimes. I think the 'immigration violation' thing is a red herring and that the truth of this matter is FAR FAR WORSE.

A BS story by TDS a-holes at the NYP. The raid was not triggered by a text. They have been investigating this wretched woman for over a year.

For someone who "won't be silenced" - she sure has gone quiet lately.
She also repeatedly claimed "no one is above the law" specifically on the indictment of President Donald Trump in the "hush money" case.
Her husband's companies are also being scrutinized:
"In 2021, Mr. Mynett allegedly promised a D.C.-area investor a 200% return on $300,000 in eStCru, plus interest, but did not repay the funds until sued for fraud in 2023."
Still, I won't believe it until I see her indicted and criminal charges filed against her.
