For years, one of the favourite pastimes of Britain's bien-pensant establishment has been to laud France, often at the expense of this country. In their telling, France is seen as progressive and smart, the apex of European culture and the master of infrastructure, while these islands are condemned as parochial. But the scenes from France in recent weeks have surely put paid to that fantasy.
France's decline is obvious and largely of its own making. Socialist economics has led to stagnant growth, punishing taxes and a state that consumes well over half of national output.
A profligate pensions system, with a retirement age that no other major economy stomachs, saps the public finances. An education system that was once the envy of the world has been hollowed out, with standards slipping and teacher absenteeism rife. Meanwhile decades of mass immigration with little integration and few job opportunities have left some French cities divided and estranged.
Britain in the 1990s was a world away from France thanks to years of free-market economic reforms from Margaret Thatcher and John Major. Tragically over the past quarter of a century we have adopted every deleterious pathology of France while failing to embrace the few things it still does well, such as nuclear power.
It is thus no wonder that our growth rate is only just higher than France's and that both countries are struggling to create new multi-billion-pound businesses.
We, too, have admitted large numbers of newcomers without finding a way to integrate many of them successfully. We, too, flinch from the hard choices on pensions, particularly in the public sector, and have allowed our national debt to soar to such a level that we spend more on servicing it than we do on defence.

Risks? More like aspires to.
And if the Dems get back into the WH and run Congress, WE will become just like France. Because they’ll be inviting in the Muslim hordes...and sharia law will creep into the country, first the blue cities...
Count on it.
The country that gave the world Federic Bastiat turns out to be the worst basket case.
This is precisely the result of the “plunder” that Bastiat wrote about.
“Man can live and satisfy his wants only by ceaseless labor; by the ceaseless application of his faculties to natural resources. This process is the origin of property.
But it is also true that a man may live and satisfy his wants by seizing and consuming the products of the labor of others. This process is the origin of plunder.
Now since man is naturally inclined to avoid pain — and since labor is pain in itself — it follows that men will resort to plunder whenever plunder is easier than work. History shows this quite clearly. And under these conditions, neither religion nor morality can stop it.
When, then, does plunder stop? It stops when it becomes more painful and more dangerous than labor.”

“How has this perversion of the law been accomplished? And what have been the results?
The law has been perverted by the influence of two entirely different causes: stupid greed and false philanthropy.”

Becoming?
Britain surrendered to the globalists a long time ago.
All of Western and Central Europe is long gone.
The only action that could save Europe now is another D Day Invasion by the US to drive out the Islamics.
They arrogantly refuse to assimilate and never will.
The only way to stop them is to crush them militarily if they refuse to leave peacefully, assuming that the EU would invite the Americans in in the first place, which of course they won’t.
The only option open for us now is to make certain they can’t do the same thing here in the New World, including Central and South America.
So far I’m not seeing the effort being made to stop them.
“Risks?”
The UK is just another muzzie African turd s hole colony. It is gone.
