[I used Grok to condense the YouTube transcript]:
On September 30, Fly Dubai flight FZ1073 from Dubai to Tel Aviv was attacked in the cockpit by co-pilot Hamam al-Hamami. He used a ruse of needing to pray to leave his seat, retrieved the crash axe from behind the captain’s position, and struck Captain Schmidt (an Indian national). Passengers intervened, subdued the attacker, and assisted in recovering the aircraft from a steep dive of roughly 14,000–16,000 feet. Deadheading crew members entered the cockpit and flew the aircraft to an airport in Saudi Arabia, where the attacker was arrested. Evacuation lights activated during the dive, consistent with dual engine failure or related electrical/fuel cutoff conditions.
UAE authorities opened a formal investigation on October 1 and interrogated al-Hamami. On October 3, two additional Fly Dubai pilots, both Maldivian nationals, were arrested. The three pilots knew one another and lived in the same building. Maldivian media reported on October 8 that the two remained in custody and under questioning. On October 9, the UAE attorney general stated that al-Hamami’s intended target was a suicide attack on the passenger terminal at Ben Gurion Airport in Tel Aviv; he claimed to have acted alone. India opened a separate investigation on October 10 because of the captain’s nationality.
Al-Hamami had begun consuming extremist materials focused on 9/11-style attacks in 2017. He joined Fly Dubai in January 2026 after leaving a prior airline that had removed him from flying duties amid suspicions and placed him in administrative work. He passed Fly Dubai’s screening, completed at least two familiarization flights to Tel Aviv, and later described his preparations during interrogation.
The two additional pilots were held for questioning by UAE authorities for roughly ten days, then deported to the Maldives, where they were further questioned and released. They are no longer able to operate for Fly Dubai. Israel has restricted both cockpit and cabin crew from 31 nationalities from flying into the country; Air France has also barred Pakistani flight crew (among others) from routes to Israel following the incident. Reporting on the additional arrests was delayed while the investigation continued, consistent with standard practice to avoid compromising potential further leads. Sources include UAE attorney general statements, Reuters, Indian Express, NDTV, and Maldivian outlets.
Captain Steeeve raises five questions based on the timeline of the Fly Dubai incident:
Captain Steeeve speculates that this news about THREE terrorist pilots is the end of FlyDubai.

Were they let go in hopes that they will lead them to others?
Captain Steeeve says the two dead heading pilots literally crawled over the scrum in the First Class Galley to make their way to the cockpit to save the aircraft.
I like Israel's response -- ban cockpit and cabin crew from 31 countries from flying into Israel. That's left airlines scrambling to figure out how to arrange schedules and fill personnel holes.
Ping!
This is the country where HRC as Secretary of State under Obama gave them preferential treatment regards the TSA when they graciously donated a lot of money to the Clinton foundation and Bill for a speech.
For a little cash, it’s OK to put American lives a risk.
Will the MSM remember this? Or will they have a collective memory failure, again?
Israel is one of the few that “makes sense.”
They understand that the threat emanates from certain regions, among certain groups, and they identify those and then make policies that are LOGICAL to reduce the threat by making folks from those areas less likely to be in a position where they can cause a problem.
We in the US, are so Politically Correct, that is an elevator door opened and a dude with a bloody axe wearing a Jason mask were inside, but that dude were black, Muslim, or trans, we’d feel compelled to get in the elevator.
This pilot gives a really good explanation.
Where it’s conjecture, he states, “this is conjecture.”
Very detailed, uses a timeline...
You can tell this guy uses his head.
