President Trump announced on Truth Social that the Fort Hood terrorist will still be executed by firing squad as scheduled, but it will not be livestreamed:
Nidal Malik Hasan, a former U.S. Army Major turned traitor, is a very bad and evil man, who killed 13 people, including a pregnant soldier, who died, along with her unborn son, and injured, very seriously, 32 more innocent people. Barack Hussein Obama’s Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) intercepted electronic communications between Hasan and the radical Yemeni-American cleric, Anwar al-Awlaki. When reviewed by his FBI terrorism task force, investigators concluded that Hasan’s emails were not a threat. This assessment of the Obama Administration’s actions was later considered to be a key intelligence failure.
With all of that being said, I think streaming the execution for all to see might have been a strong deterrent for the World to witness how America deals with Terrorists and SCUM like Hasan but, many very good and well meaning people would rather not watch him die, through streaming, or through any other visual device. He will die, as scheduled, by firing squad, but this event will not be streamed. That said, the execution may be viewed in person by the immediate families of the victims, if they so choose. They deserve to witness JUSTICE! Thank you for your attention to this matter. President DONALD J. TRUMP
This is breaking and will be updated if necessary.
Good.
A wise decision.
Settled. Knew it. I just thought the announcement would happen after Nov. 3.
His execution will not be livestreamed because some people don’t want to watch it? How about this idea: just don’t watch!
While I strongly support the increased application of the death penalty and think that executions should be public, this is the right call. Wise decision.
Now shoot the bastard, bury him smeared in pork grease, and never speak of him again.
Public execution has a place in a civil society. We can not afford anymore weaponized empathy. One can make it public without making it a spectacle.
Good decision President Trump.
It was a very big strategic error to not hang him, not only would it be a less honorable death for him but it would have forced the media to mention the last military execution in America, and it would have tied Trump’s hanging and tough on crime message with that hanging of the black soldier under JFK, putting “JFK” combined with “Trump” into a message of the resurrection of military executions and this taking Islam seriously message.
Where is the public relations/political messaging expertise?
Disagree. Bending to political pressure.
The less people who know who this guy is, the better.
Livestreaming it, just turns him into a martyr.
I agree.v
Very wise decision
Wonder if Hegseth resigns over this.
Now you have a significant part of society that actually agrees with what he did.
I don’t think it ever was going to be broadcast live. This was just some propaganda to get the Dog Eaters and Goat F’ers upset.
I too disagreed with the decision to livestream the execution. I disagree with using a firing squad to end this mooslimb murderer’s life. I think it’ll be too quick. Hanging slowly making this scumbag suffer is what I believe he deserves. I’d even donate the rope.
That is the correct decision, IMO.
It gave Trump’s many enemies ammunition comparing his admin to muslim regimes that cut off people’s heads on live stream and then parade around the results.
That said, I hate Hasan so much I would have watched it.
The best thing to do is do it quietly, and announce the execution weeks after the fact.
The same people who never tired of watching the Charlie Kirk murder on news feed reruns are suddenly squeamish.
I don’t know. It’s not for morbid reasons, but rather I think that the death penalty isn’t much of a deterrent when it is as remote and sanitized as it currently appears to the public. The way it happens now, it almost doesn’t seem real.
It was always a terrible idea.
