The U.S. Labor Department announced it would suspend Microsoft and Adobe from its Permanent Labor Certification.
Labor Secretary Keith Sonderling said Cognizant, Infosys, Capgemini, Tata, Wipro and HCL were also suspended from the program.

Vice President JD Vance criticized Microsoft specifically, pointing to the firm’s 6,000 layoffs in 2025. Vance claimed that the company “replaced” those workers with people on H-1B visas.
“So we’re going to continue to support Microsoft and have a great relationship with Microsoft, but we’re also going to deny them the ability to apply for these permanent residencies until they show that they are going to get serious about putting American workers first,” Vance said.

YES!!
Outstanding!
I voted for this!
Trump is suspending Microsoft from a US immigration program that allows its foreign workers to transfer from an H1B1 visa to a green card, accusing the tech giant of fraud:
“Every US worker Microsoft laid off was replaced w/ one and
a half foreigners,” VP Vance said at a govt fraud task force event.
I voted for this.
““Of the approximately 6,000 H-1B visa applications we submitted in the last fiscal year, 80% percent were to extend or change the status of existing Microsoft employees,” the company said.”
.
Oh, so Microslop has been giving American workers the finger for years now?
.
IT was a major culprit.
I saw it with my own eyes when working in that field for 3 years in Plano TX.
They brought folks over from India in groves.
Sadly, it’s all a consequence of the fact that the policy makers are essentially for sale. The political machine runs on money: the party, campaigns, and politicians want to get rich. That all take a lot of money.
Big business and your oligarchs have the money. So they have a huge degree, a disproportionate influence, on policy making.
On MOST issues where the public opinion is in contradiction with what corporate America wants, the interests of corporate america win. That’s why you’ve seen suck a screwed up immigration/visa policy, why pharma always gets what they want, why China always got most favored trade...
Do Disney next!
A lot of the money that companies save on payroll go to the republican party and their candidates. Of course the “guest workers” never go back home and they will eventually become America hateing democratic voters. Tech workers can’t win. That and they have no union or lobbyists in DC mean they are screwed. They are now competing with 10+ million foreign workers. 10 years from now people will be wondering how we created such a mess.
The banks and HMOs are employing them too.
You can’t understand a damn thing they’re saying!
They can’t speak understandable ENGLISH.
Most are oriental or from India.
Microsoft’s problems start at the top.
Agreed. H1B is a huge fraud. New college CompSci grads are working at starbucks and companies layoff 50yr old workers but import cheap H1Bs. Send them all home.
Money is not immoral, but it is amoral. Sadly the political system is for sale causing for a very few having a huge degree of influence. But that’s about as good as it gets, since other political models are all “worse.”
It’s actually an interesting topic but sadly with very little real information on it (the majority isn’t interested and those with the power don’t want to highlight what is going on).
There have been some empirical studies: https://www.cambridge.org/core/journals/perspectives-on-politics/article/abs/testing-theories-of-american-politics-elites-interest-groups-and-average-citizens/62327F513959D0A304D4893B382B992B
On those issues where the interests of corporate America stand in conflict with the public (majority), the money gets its way, ~60-70% of the time, i.e. US manufacturing moving to China for many years, monopolies in pharma, big corporations looking for cheap skilled labor in the US (H1B visa was a major mechanism for this), cheap blue collar workers and a lack of border and immigration enforcement with the South...
Money does not know race, religion, or even cares about what’s best for a nation. It has no loyalty to a family, geography, or sex. It wants to maximize profits, and if not kept in check, it will literally sell the rope with which we’ll get hung, as IMHO has been done with China for many years. Here’s a nation that sees us has their geo political rival both economic and increasingly militarily. Yet, in the name of profits, we were exporting tech, training their engineers and scientists in the US, taught them how to manage things, and exported capital machinery which BTW can build war machines.
Most people get the environmental concept on how making a buck at any environmental expense is wrong. We have failed to recognize this concept when it comes to the export of much tech and machinery and folks like Bezos, Gates, Soros... are in no rush to see this paradigm shift, which it thankfully finally is.
Good. Adobe coding is an abomination!
This will hopefully take a few GBs off the Adobe program’s size. It is so messed up they had to make it real time software (bugs and bug fixes 24/7).
The damage is not apparent yet. It will be eventually and it will NOT be repairable.
Not totally true about the party funding. The big tech moguls are big Democrat donors. This mess is the fault of both parties.
“A lot of the money that companies save on payroll go to the republican”
And yet it’s a Republican repealing it.
And Indian H1BS heavily favor Ds
How ‘bout you’re just FOS?
Certain companies have done the reverse by opening data centers in India and offshoring the jobs. I don’t see how we can stop that.
So this could mean:
<><>every previous naturalization is fraudulent,
<><>every previous green card is fraudulent,
<><>every previous spouse visa is fraudulent,
<><>every previous chain migration based on the original H1-B visa is fraudulent.
Both parties benefit.
And you should not be rude.
Yeah, right?
