- On Monday, the White House refused to allow Politico on Air Force One, preventing the outlet from fulfilling its print pool responsibilities for President Donald Trump's campaign trip to Nebraska.
- The Trump administration justifies these restrictions by distinguishing access to the White House complex from tight spaces like the Oval Office and Air Force One, where officials have repeatedly barred CNN from assigned pool days.
- With Politico barred, the White House offered the seat to other news organizations, but several declined; CNN reporter Brian Stelter noted Monday's action will likely be incorporated into the outlets' ongoing lawsuit.
- Attorney Ted Boutrous, representing the affected outlets, argued the ban violates the First and Fifth Amendments, calling it an unconstitutional restriction on the free press that harms the public interest.
- Judge Timothy Kelly is scheduled to hold a hearing on Thursday regarding the outlets' request for a preliminary injunction, which would protect press access ahead of a potential trial.

“Judge Timothy Kelly is scheduled to hold a hearing on Thursday...”
Trump judge. One of the worst. Indistinguishable from a Democrat.

The MSM should have their own damned plane paid for by themselves and not get a free ride by us taxpayers, don’t remember the part in the Constitution were it stated the press get a free ride all over the planet.

These people think they are above the president. The president, no matter who or what party, should be able to choose who he has that close to him.

What moronic "news organization" would turn down the opportunity to be that close to a sitting president (like him or not) and report on what he is doing? That would be a career changing assignment as well as a huge boost for the organization.
The world is insane.

No “right” to a seat or admittance. Try being a little more civil.

Since the Hussein/Biden/Harris Crime Syndicate funneled mucho $$$$ to Bull-BLEEP-ico through USAID, how about telling Bull-BLEEP-ico that they need to reimburse the taxpayers.
Only then will President Trump consider any changes.

A constitutional right to fly on a Luxury plane? Let’s see how ACB and Roberts work this into textualist theory. I’m sure they’ll try.

Trump should assign all open seats to the new media and then just say the plane is full. Politico has no more right to a seat than any other new media outlet.

Should have waited until the plane was at 30,000 feet altitude before kicking them off...

Just I declare that only essential personnel are allowed on AF1. Problem solved. Stop with the schoolyard antics.

Trump should assign all open seats to the new media and then just say the plane is full. Politico has no more right to a seat than any other new media outlet. He should give the seat to Nick Shirley, and point out that 1) He's done more high impact accurate investigative journalism at 23 years of age than most of the MSM, and 2) He's a perfect example of real suppression of his first amendment rights by the California liberal legislature.
