The court had Bolsonaro with just over 56 million votes to Lula’s 53.7 million, with 99.8 percent of the vote reported. The next presidential term is set to begin Jan. 5.

The winner will be in charge of Latin America’s biggest economy and a population of 214 million. A win for Bolsonaro would increase U.S. influence in Latin America. If Lula wins, Brazil will keep its distance from Washington and continue to deepen its relationship with China.

Should have a pool going as to when Lula will have Bolsonaro killed or arrested.

I read his post as not believing they didn’t get the majority.

Balsonaro did get a majority, 47% vs 45.2%. In Brazil the first round of voting requires 50% for an outright win. On to the second round!

Balsonaro did get a majority, 47% vs 45.2%.

Did you accidentally leave out "not" as a typo?

Neither of those percentages is a majority by definition as they are both below 50%. A majority is 50% + 1.

“Plurality” is not a “Majority”.
