The Skeptic Research Center's 2024 study of over 3,000 U.S. adults showed majorities of Hispanic (59%), Black (69%), and Asian (55%) women, plus many men in those groups, selected 'true' for the statement, compared to lower rates among white respondents. Liberal millennials led at 55%, while even 31% of graduate degree holders agreed; the same group held misconceptions about incomes and college admissions. Slavery existed for millennia worldwide, from ancient Mesopotamia to Africa and the Americas, long before the race-based transatlantic trade driven by Europeans. The findings spotlight gaps in understanding slavery's global history amid America's pivotal role in its abolition.

Certain species of ants raid other ants hills and carry them away as slaves.
Any time you have a species that works they are going to start eyeing others as cheap labor.
And anything of a positive nature that was invented by whites was in reality stolen from the black man. /sarc

Basically, our schools and universities teach that every social ill was created by white people while every scientific, technological and social advance is either ignored, glossed over, or attributed to non-whites.
Because we needed cheap labor after the Germans bombed Pearl Harbor.

My grandmother, an Irish orphan, was an indentured servant until she was 16 when my grandfather paid $100 for her and married her. That was 1891, long after black slavery ended. She raised the children of a wealthy Cherokee Indian family.

I was going to say there is archeological evidence of slavery going back 10s of thousands of years but you got me beat on that.
When (Semitic) Egyptians fought (Black) Nubians, the Nubians took Egyptian prisoners as slaves and vice-versa. The same was true when the Egyptians fought (Indo-European) Hittites. I'm sure liberals will claim that it was the Indo-European ("white") Hittites who invented the concept.
Unfortunately.
And not in a good way.
